Seeking Joy by Liora Leah .....

I'm going back to my original style of blogging, focusing more on the positive and on creative writing.

A friend of mine wrote me recently, and said that a lot of the environmental information I send out is "depressing." He's right. I toyed with the idea of ending Mother Earth Heals entirely, but then decided that instead of quitting it altogether, I'm going to be blogging less frequently. What I do post will be more positive, and in keeping more with the original theme of this blog, that is:

--My personal spiritual experiences in how reconnection with the planet is helping me to heal in mind-body, heart and soul, through practices such as barefoot walking and sungazing: "Barefoot Story" http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=309&i=5 or "Sungazing/Barefoot Walking" http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=309&i=38

--Simple, everyday ways that we, as residents of the planet, can help the Earth to heal from human-made environmental degradation by 1) using home products that are healthy for us and for the environment, such as "Liora's Lists" of environmentally friendlier cleaning and home products: "Liora's List: More Eco-Friendly Cleaning Products!" http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=309&i=165  and 2) taking care of our yards and gardens in an eco-friendly way: "Fall Mulch!" http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=309&i=163

--Easy ways that we can be involved in action campaigns directed towards government and industry to address environmental and health issues; there will be fewer of these than before, and primarily will be my "favorite" causes, such as the Eco-Action Alerts on the rainforests or the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge: "Wonderously Blank, Arctic National Wildlife Refuge" http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=309&i=154 or "Save Rainforest for Free!"  http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=309&i=55

--I'm also going to try to include more of my own personal writing, as I did when I first started this blog, such as the "Yard Notes" series: "Yard Notes: Monster Flowers!" http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=309&i=48  instead of posting articles I read in the newspaper or on-line.

A very wise woman recently told me that I would burn myself out if I didn't take time to find joy in life. She's right. I'm tired. Joy is not something I can find outwardly, but inwardly. As the weather cools and we move further into Fall, I'm going to be doing just that--turning inward, and focusing more on the positive in my life, as well as the spiritual.

Look to my other blog, Spirit Speaks, for the spiritual "take" on environmental issues: http://curezone.com/blogs/f.asp?f=356&t=55128. This blog will continue to be the forum for the words of wisdom given to me by my Spirit Guides and Great Mother Earth.

For those of you who want to read articles about the environment, I'd suggest Grist on-line magazine, "A Beacon in the Smog: Daily Grist, Top Environmental News from around the World, Gloom and Doom with a Sense of Humor" http://www.grist.org/ to read and sign up.

Also, National Resources Defense Council quarterly on-line magazine, OnEarth, http://www.nrdc.org/onearth/05fal/default.asp to read and sign-up

There are a zillion non-profit & environmental groups out there that you can receive e-mail magazines and eco-alerts from, and you don't have to contribute money to get the information (although they will solicit you for contributions now and again). Some of my favorites, in no particular order :
