Acu-Vibe::Perfect Treatment Synthesis by vibr8 .....

A Collaborative Open House focused on various alternative health treatment modalities is a smashing success and surprisingly introduces a new combined modality

Ok. So, basically, I spent more than two weeks worrying about every little detail involved with the collaborative Open House party I was planning with the Acupuncturists in my complex. Looking back, it is clear I chose to agonize over this event far too much. Of course, as they say, hindsight is always 20/20.

The Open House was yesterday, and it went brilliantly, all in all. Brilliantly.

A friend of mine from California who was visiting (planning a move to our peaceful little village) and who knew very little about Acupuncture or the VIBE Machine or Subtle Energy Therapies in general told me she had a good experience at the Open House and learned a little something about all of the modalities we provided presentations on. If even one person learns/gains something from an event, it is a success, in my estimation.

The Open House began with two hours of unstructured time. People stayed mostly in the Acupuncturists' waiting room, talking with the Acupuncturists, receiving sampler treatments (mostly Auricular Acupuncture), and socializing.

The first educational presentation was given by the Acupuncturists. Each one spoke for about 1/2 hour, presenting their stories of education, experience, treatment successes, and such, and showing clearly their compassion and their enthusiasm about this new private practice and treating patients with trauma and/or addictions.

Observing the rapt attention and obvious interest in the audience, I was cheered. For two weeks + I worried endlessly about such minute details as refreshments and location logistics, which now seemed so unimportant in retrospect.

The Acupuncturists' presentation was interlaced with audience questions and many stayed to ask more questions at the end.

Near the end of the questions and answers, our next speaker, the VIBE Machine inventor Gene Koonce, and his partner Sandy arrived. The group, led by Vibr8 (and I am hesitant to lead...a hallmark of my life) proceeded to the Espresso Cafe in the front of our complex, where Gene's presentation was to take place. The temperature got up to 103 yesterday, thus I planned as much of the event as I could to happen in air-conditioned rooms. It has been unseasonably hot here for weeks, but a cool-down is predicted soon. Welcome relief!

Anyway, I digress! If I were a really good pre-planner, I would have had the cafe all set up for this keynote presentation. But it wasn't. Lots of people helped, and one of my clients who is good at organization politely offered suggestions as we were getting the room rearranged. It took about 7 minutes, but seemed so much longer.

Then the presentation began. Gene spoke of the process he went through in inventing the VIBE Machine. He spoke of peoples' experiences with the VIBE Machine. He spoke of past and current clinical research that is being done with the VIBE Machine. Many people in the audience were taking notes during his presentation. It occurred to me halfway through that it would have been a good idea to record what he was saying. Next time....

Gene's presentation was rejuvenating for me, and inspired several people to ask for VIBE treatments afterward. We had 3 or 4 group VIBE sessions then, and pioneered an idea Gene's partner Sandy had discussed with one of the Acupuncturists: Acu-Vibe.

I've taken the liberty of making up a name for this synthesis of Acupuncture and a VIBE Machine treatment.

4 or 5 people appeared quite motivated to try "vibing" with Acupuncture needles in their ears. It was quite a sight to behold. The reports from clients emerging from the VIBE room were enthusiastic. They were saying that the VIBE machine intensified the sensation of flowing and balance they experience from Acupuncture alone.

All of their enthusiasm inspired me to try an Acu-Vibe session too. More than 12 hours later I'm still feeling the energizing and balancing effects.

The Acupuncturists spoke of the possibility of offering Acu-Vibe sessions to clients in the future. It's a good idea, but Acupuncture is an established form of treatment, while the VIBE Machine is purely experimental at this point in time. I plan to encourage the Acupuncturists to check with their licensing board to be sure this would be allowable before proceeding.

I have to say I'm excited about Acu-Vibe because I could see the positive effects and excitement about it in several people, as well as experiencing this myself. The potential of these combined modalities is huge.

Our third presentation was by Tcha LaPlaca introducing the Perkl-Light color therapy device to a fascinated and attentive group. Her knowledge and compassion together with the Perkl-Light's clarity and effectiveness composed a perfect ending to a successful Open House.

Now the Acupuncturists want to have a collaborative event every month with a guest speaker, and I think that's a great idea. As life goes, I will learn from my mistakes (mostly just spending too much time worrying about the event and not enough time planning essential aspects of it) and move forward gracefully.

Thank you for listening.
