did this disaster finally get our attention?

Once I got over my disbelief at the conditions that are with our broters and sisters in New Orleans, other La. townships, people in Mississippi and the people in Alabama. I too wanted to help, beyond a donation. To go beyond what I know to be true of this government. A government who rejects the people and areas of the country it does not deem profitibale.. Finally, they got President Bush's attention, only because of what the rest of the world is seeing. With his ratings at an all time low, he could not afford to turn his back COMPLETELY. We truly have a man who would sell part of his own country and its people to invest in another country. What has happened in New Orleans has been decades in the making. I am not sure if this is true, but I was told 1 in 6 families in New Orleans does not own a car.. How can you take care of people in a country half way around the world when you aren't even taking care of your own people? I am very afraid of what we have bought into. It just may be an irreversible situation. Our apathy and meme first attitudes, have brought us to new lows, and it is our own doing-- each and everyone of us. No one speaks out anymore. I was part of the 60's war on poverty, the protests against Vietnam, the grape boycotts, because of the conditions of the migrant workkers and we were effective----we dared to speak out for the impoverished, and the less fortunitate. We didn't fear the establishment we became a voices into it. We tried to speak for those who couldn't. I am a Reiki teacher and energy healer, and I am asking all of us why do any thing at all in the healing arts to create an intention and ask for universal energy---force---prana-- to be directed to the areas of all in La. Mississippi, and Alabama as many times a day as you can spare. It is for our fellow woman and man, our brothers and sisters. AND. There but for the grace of God go I. Let us all PLEASE, join together energetically to heal, until our throat chakra clears and we are able to form our words-------- and finally we speak.
