Water, Absolute Silence, and Entrainment.

What a beautiful day and the water is back up to 59 degrees-and I am in love with life. I always am reminded of myself- or perhaps, a better description is I am always "brought into myself" by open water swimming. The cold salty water lapping over my arms and back while I kick powerfully and test my responses and strength. I am so fulfilled. I AM so alive! I can taste life in my mouth.
I thought I caught a glimpse of my Seal (see seal sighting). Now that I intuit he is curious but not territorial-I want to play with him. In summer, the Navy will have the "trained" dolphins out practicing-they are curious but the trainers ask me not to approach-I have a funny feeling they may be trained to play rough with "frogmen". I do know they are trained to patrol waters and to stick magnetic bombs on ships hulls. They must have other "talents" since they are such bright and versatile mammals! What a shame.
Last summer I was at the end of Peckham's Pier when the trainers came by in their little open gray skiff. When they saw me they began to frantically shake dead fish over the open side of the skiff-No takers. I hoped the dolphins decided to make a break and come visit- Then it occured to me that these dolphins might be trained to play hard with swimmers. I still believe they would have sensed I was not threat.
In Bimini, I swam with wild dolphins- free dove with no air bubbles to "offend the dolphins sensitive hearing". You needed to be able to dive 12- 15 feet, and hold your breath for 1 minute-and have the acrobatic ability to seduce the dolphins into play by "dancing" in the water in a sinuous fashion. Dolphins find this most sexy, and fun loving.
Mainly, we spent most of the week on a boat looking for dolphins-but we did have a few sightings and I was lucky enough to get in the water with them, I did a pretty good dance-they liked me. Lucky for me, Bimini was heaven enough for me to be on the boat, and snorkel with the absolutely awe inspiring colorful reef fish. I was in heaven-Dolphin or no Dolphin. Such peace I never or very rarely experience on land.
We dove on the Bimini road- the one that has some connection to Atlantis- definitely the stones were hand cut. Nature does not make these "step like" shapes, but whether Atlantis connected or not -I do not know. I wished we'd had tanks here. While relatively shallow with superb visibility, it takes a lot to collapse the lungs enough to reduce bouyancy enough to stay down at 15-20 ft for more than a minute. Frustrating-tanks please!
I'm ready for another trip to Bimini, I think I'll create that tonight with my Abundance Software Program. Sat Nam- I am God Today!!!!
