Does the end justify the means?

If it works, it must be a good thing, right?
Wrong.
The Bible says, " There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." (Proverbs 14:12, 16:25), and, "For the payoff of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23).
We live in a world filled with offers of advice on how to cure or fix just about anything, including spiritual problems. Many of these methods work for multitudes of people. But should we just blindly swallow all that glitters, just because it works, or is there a danger in success?
Obviously, we can cite example after example of things that seemed to work miracles, only to find out too late that it had some serious side-effects. Things that seemed harmless and even beneficial before, suddenly cause problems we never anticipated. This is true not only of medicine or many other things, but especially of spiritual matters.
Suppose you have made the most perfect counterfeit $20 bill ever. It is indistinguishable from the real one. You could easily go out and buy something with it-- until someone finds out it wasn't made by the government. You see, it isn't how well something works that matters, or how good it looks, it's the source. Individuals are simply not allowed to print their own money, no matter what.
In the same way, there is only one true God and one Way to reach him, Jesus Christ. All other beliefs are counterfeits, because no matter how well they work, they come from the wrong source: man. Testimonials abound for other religious belief systems, but in the end they land you in hell. This is what God says, not me.
But when you think about what God requires to get to heaven, it isn't much to ask. In fact, it's the ONLY system that offers a FREE ticket to heaven! Trust in Jesus, who died for your sins and rose again, and you're in! Forget working for that which is available for free. Forget penance, meditation, protocols that promise a temporary benefit, and take the Gift of Life from the nail-scarred hand of Jesus.
