Will the Real Holy Spirit Please Stand Up? by Ready2Rapture .....

Many claim His guidance to interpret the scriptures, but who is right?

People like to criticize us when we say we rely upon the Holy Spirit to help us interpret the scriptures. They say "So everyone says the Holy Spirit guides them, but they all disagree. How many "Holy Spirits" are there?"

But what they don't realize is that the Holy Spirit is not in the business of making cookie-cutter Christians, but building up a Body. We each have a different purpose, a different vantage point. By telling this person one part of the truth, and that person another, it takes all of us together to form the big picture. One Spirit, One body, but different parts.

Satan likes to drive our differences deeper and distract us with trifles, so we need to stay focused and remember that each one has a contribution. We tend to beat each other for not seeing out only one window, but that would leave all the other windows unused and we'd miss something. That's also the value I see in commentators, and translations, and denominations. God has allowed them for a reason.

Another possible purpose for differing views but the same Spirit is to test us, to see how we react to those who cannot see what we see. It isn't as if God is divided or schizoid, just that he has many purposes, and testing is a part of that.

But remember that this only applies to one body. You cannot join the Body of Christ with any other; you cannot join the One Truth with error. Other religions are not parts of God's revelation such that we should try to get their views. So be careful not to blend the Spirit of Truth with the spirit of error! Oil and water just don't mix.
