contentment
Happiness is neither virtue nor pleasure, nor this thing nor that, but simply growth.
-William Butler Yeats (1865-1939)
Growth my buzz word for the decade, thus I entertain Sadhana and other practices that test and challenge me. They make me stronger. But Contentment, ah! Now that is this side of the coin that inspires.
I feel the most contented in the water. As soon as I lower myself into the water, put on my fins and feel my body glide through the viscous liquid I feel every cell twinkling with life I begin to smile amost immediately (depending on the water temperature!)
When I am finished I lie on the warm sand and begin to thaw again my muscles begin to melt under God's warmth..these are the times I contmplate the world (seen and unseen)
I feel the most connected here, the most contentment, a liquid flowing loving connection- This must be supreme contentment! Well it is my supreme contentment- I feel this connection to all I am One in nature -where let's face we all began...but not enough of us have connection now.
During my thaw out I have seen the little nymphs that circulate above the water in water like patterns litte circlttes, and I have seen the fabric of the skyopen and present nothing but light-all th eblur has been replaced by translucent light...
It seems that at an extreme level of relaxation the maya departs and we are able to see the universe in all it's extreme diversity..Whoopee...Now what to do with this knowledge?
Get a church?, Claim my Divinity from the pulpit?, No, Post on curezone, tell people it's all true and not just a theory? That their pain is not real...whoa that's a tough sale...But true nevertheless...Do I tell the enchanted gardener that he creates his own life and if it is so bad as he writes, then he is the only one that can change it? Yeah, did that didn't go over so well...but I notice his tone is better now...maybe it was just his time. It's certainly not my job, so why is my contentment disturbed by those who are so discontent?
Because al the beauty we can experience, and this is it...the war the manipulation, the greed, the revenge, anger-these are all ours too...I wonder why after thousands of years this is what we choose? It's perplexing. ah well, time for some yoga and a swim...
