Addiction and Mantras by munificent .....

Sat Sangeet sings until he is lifted and he feels the heart open with love...I know of which he speaks and if I ever get the opportunity at Summer/Winter Solstice I will go find him and listen. This richness of soul, I crave it. I am like a starving woman...greedy for all the feelings of equanimity, for my true self

"I wonder
what "mantras" you kept coming back to Sat Sangeet in order to ignore the
cries for food"....Awtar

Sat Sangeet writes:

I had just returned from my first summer solstice experience and had heard Snatam's "Prem" album for the first time....so I sat down with my guitar and tried to figure out, in the limited guitar experience I had, how to play her version of "Gobinda Hari" (which translates to God my Sustainer).

Well, I never figured it out, but as I tried, something new emerged. In that moment, the first song that I ever wrote came pouring out of me....I sang what seemed like forever "Gobinda Gobinda Hari Hari..." Over and over again...feeling God as the force that sustains me, rather than food etc. Lifting me up and lifting me up!! And then english verse beagn to come to me as well...and it turned out to be an 8 minute song in the end! Ha Ha! And I am happy to report 4 years after the fact, I have just finished my first recording experience and "Gobinda" was one of the songs that I recorded! So it's all come full circle!

My other "all time favorite" 911 call is...

"Guru Guru Wahe Guru Guru Ram Das Guru"....I learnt my love of Guru Ram Das from Guru Ganesha Singh...at my first summer solstice event, I had the privilege of having my heart opened, while he sang a love song he had written about Guru Ram Das to me in the "Ancient healing ways" trailer of all things! Ha Ha! And from there, I have always found his love of Guru Ram Das contagious!

There is nothing that I'd rather do more than sing devotionally!

All Light,

Sat Sangeet Kaur
