If you do not use your physical body it becomes weak and experiences atrophy as the muscles become weak and wither away.

You know your physical condition better than me, so please only take this advice if you feel it is appropriate.
What I would recommend is to join a Yoga class. There are many types of Yoga. A beginner's Hatha Yoga class, which will stretch and energize the muscles in a moderate gentle way, could help you a lot.
Yoga is good because you can set your own limits and increase the practice at your own rate.
What I would recommend is doing a little each day and slowly building up to what you feel comfortable with. This will energize and strengthen the muscles in your thighs.
As you build up your physical strength you may wish to progress to an intermediate class, which will teach the Yogic Breath and more advanced postures like the Salutation to the Sun. If you do this three to five times a day, your physical strength will really start to build.
Yoga, which is another word for balance, will align all your bodies – physical, mental and spiritual, clearing blockages in the energy meridians and improving your sense of wellbeing.
If you get very good at Yoga, in say three to six months, you may want to advance even further and join an Ashtanga Yoga or Power Yoga class, which really heats up the body and clears out the breathing system and cardiovascular system.
If you do this with conscious breathing, and perhaps take up one of the many methods of meditation, your physical, mental and spiritual bodies will really gain a benefit and you will become more self-aware of who and what you are.
This self knowledge helps to make you aware of some of the major shifts in consciousness that are taking place at the moment. You would rapidly move up to be one of the leading lightworkers on the planet, leading the way through awareness, for all mankind to follow.
