YES, dear friend....

I will be part of the photo end.

I am taking the summer off to declutter and organize for the fall.

I am some very strong ideas about taking a stand that San Diego
have an inventory of viable lands for growing food, and that
we be a model city for laws that make it mandatory that funds be see aside
for local food growing as any development occurs.

This is an issue of what is needed as I see it.
IT is also an issue of food security, and this idea--food security--
is a way to get to get many people on the supportive side.

Keep me posted.

I have many photos already of wonderful fresh local foods, and farmers, and let me know what you have in mind.

Thanks Les,

I have been in contact with Joe at the Esco FM and do hope to work with him on this. I would also like to see if you want to work your photographic magic for the promotional side of this........

Rob,

I will bring this to the attention of Joe Rodriguez, Jr., and other farmers
in my support network.

Sorry I missed the workshop.

I intended to be there, but caught up in Mercury Retrograde
relationship issues.

Much Love, and support toward this.

I have not heard from Scott Murray about this years Slow Food Fundraiser,
in August but I would think this would be a good place to get more support for this.

Your Enchanted Gardener,
Leslie

FRESH LOCALLY GROWN PRODUCE

IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY

Dear Farming Friends, July 10, 2007

I am proposing to you that we work together to form a distribution network for your farm fresh produce. I plan to promote you and your farm products to the family of Moceri Produce customers.

My commitment to local food and farms began in my late teen working for Evelyn Nichols at The Vegetarian Oasis in Escondido. The first restaurant I know of with an organic salad bar, and I was the garde manger, even though I did not speak French very well. I was inspired to learn about food and gardening and I aspired to become a farmer, not in name only!

Years passed and I became that farmer I aspired towards and formed Tierra Miguel Foundation and Farm in Pauma Valley, CA. During that time I worked to form a restaurant and retail sales division of our farm in addition to the CSA and Farmers Market sales we were doing. I worked with my new friend and fellow farmer Tim Connelly of Moceri Produce to make this happen. The Moceri family and Tim were open and willing to work with me as part of their distribution. I chose to work with them because of the relationship and good credit rating they had in the Produce Bluebook. My vision of this was to make it easier and more cost effective for farmers and chefs to come together with a good distributor in the middle.

Now many years later I invite you to consider the possibilities with me of expanding our local produce program by including your products in addition to the fine vegetables and herbs we are carrying from Connelly Gardens and other local growers.

Please contact me if you want to participate and I will work with you to find a way to make this work. I look forward to hearing from you and sampling your product.

Best regards,

Robert Farmer
