Farmers' Market, 9 AM-1 PM, Sundays
at the DMV, Normal St and Lincoln.
Barry signed "A Love Letter to Joe the Farmer"
and was a sponsor of our EarthFair exhibit.
Plans include featuring Barry in the proposed
Whole Foods Market Hillcrest Farmers' Market.
This is a page from
"The Comeback of Joe the Farmer."
This is Barry Cogen of La Milpa Organica Farm.
Barry is a brilliant teacher in the field of sustainability.
He grows extraordinary food.
La Milpa is featured at the La Mesa Farmers' Market
on Spring Street on Friday 3-6, and the Hillcrest Farmers' Market
9-1 at the DMV on Normal Street.
Barry sponsored the "Sign a Love Letter to Joe the Farmer"/
Plant Your Dream Exhibit at the San Diego Earth Fair.
I had a basket of his food there, and a Poster
of Barry on the front table.
I admire Barry Cogen very much. He is a Purist
when it comes to Earth Day. He cannot see people
driving cars to such an event.
Barry has Special Events at his farm.
I will involved Barry and La Milpa in my Summer Projects.
Dave Sanders, Store Team Leader, invited me to organize
a Farmers' Market
at Whole Foods Market Hillcrest on Saturdays.
Barry will be one of the local organic farmers who will
be invited to participate. He is a tremendous educator.
I heard him speak at the Cultivating Food Justice Conference.
I can see Barry Teaching a class at Whole Foods Market Hillcrest
about the Importance of supporting Local farmers.
I first understood the concept of Peak Oil listening to Barry Cogen.
Harmony Better Farmers:
(L) to (R):
Joe Rodriguez Jr. and Barry Cogen.
All for One and One for All.
San Diego County has more mouths to feed
organically than we have the food to feed them.
I see no competition between our local organic farmers.
Cooperation and Coordination will benefit all.

Hillcrest Farmers' Market Support
For five years or more I have been supporting the success
of the Hillcrest Farmers' Market. I still do. This is
my home market.
We are all entering a period of Good Fortune.
I plant now, that San Diego County shall be an Organic
Food Growing Capital of the World and this will
come out of the harmony between Farmers.
I am proposing and exploring a mini Farmers' Market
at Whole Foods Hillcrest for Saturdays.
I will support as well an increase in shoppers
at the Sunday Hillcrest Farmers' Market--
as we can fit in more shoppers here!!!!
I will put more energy over time--
into the idea of a Mural on the side of the DMV
building. I will ask Arnold to support local
farming in San Diego County.
I set a Seed Dream to increase the number of
shoppers at Hillcrest FM through Enchanted Garden
Projects.
Your Enchanted Gardener,
Leslie
