Looking Good!
This was salad served today at our lunch
at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Restaurant.
It will not be a far stretch to get locally
grown organic food in here. The Fairgrounds
is run by the SD Ag Department. I already
have some history with the Fair.
Where the $$$$$ is?
Where do you go when you have an idea
to raise $4 Million to buy back a 100 acre
Organic Farm?
The Del Mar Race Track, of course.
Here I was today, holding locally grown
organic food from Noel Stehly. Jorge Miranda,
who signed A Love Letter to Joe the Farmer,
took my photo today.
I plan to be back here this Racing Season.
I planted a Seed Dream today that Noel's
locally grown organic food, and Joe's food,
and Sun Grown Sprouts will be served here.
The Joe the Farmer Futurity?????
Hmmm.....
I enjoy NOT Preaching to the Choir.
It brings me great Joy.
Today I planted a Seed Dream
that Locally Grown Organic Food
would be served by the Restaurant
that servers the Del Mar Turf Club.

This happened because I attended
the Eighth Annual Gardening with Class Conference.
The Conference Dining room was in the Grandstand
that harbors the Del Mar Turf Club.
I gave special thanks to Chic Lapidus
father of Richard Lapidus.
When I was a teen, Chic, the inspiration
behind Chic Wide Shoes, would take me and Richard
as Teens to Hollywood Park Racetrack.
My first day at the Races I won money in about
eight races.
I would go down to the fence--the Rail-- and look at the horses
and talk to them, so to speak. I found I could commune
with their Spirit, and pick Winners.
Maybe that was Beginner's luck. IT sure was fun.
Richard continued to go to the races for numbers of years.
He now runs the shoe stores, and his the author of
a book on his snake adventures in Arizona. He prefers
fishing. He made his mark as a Western Historian
and speaks about Wyatt Earp each year. I believe
that is one of his specialites. He probably knew
Wyatt Earp in a past life. Wyatt Earp lived
in San Diego once, I believe.
I am glad I have some familiarity with Race Tracks
thanks to Chic and Richard.
Once Richard took me to the Del Mar Races
when we lived in L.A.
I have been back to the Fairgrounds for the Del Mar
Fair, but never the Turf Club.
There were planter boxes all over the place
on these higher floors of the Grandstand Bing Crosby,
Bob Hope, and Jimmy Durante once had fun.
In my Mind's eye, I did a Forest Gump.
I am sure there is a photo on some wall here
of those Hollywood Players who would come down
for the Races. They likely owned property in San Diego
County. I was using Photoshop to capture on of the Images.
I put myself in the photo, ala Forest Gump being with
President Kennedy, etc. You know what I am talking about
if you saw that film. Sometimes I think of myself
as a Real Life Forest Gump in the sense of who I meet
and what doors will Open when I follow Spirit.
Today, some of the teachers were talking about
the popularity of Arnold, our Gov.
He was down and out. Then he got on the Environmental
Bandwagon. He won the Teachers over when he gave $15 million
for CA gardens in the Schools. I have been backing that program
on my Whole Foods Market Ad.
When I see Arnold, I am going to ask him to put in a garden
in Capital Park, outside the door of the Capital in Sacramento.
I am going to see that Locally Grown Organic Foods and my Photos
are in the Cafe up there, so those Legislators have good Food
and Healthy Images. WHen I was up there a number of years ago,
There were a lot of asktrays.
I was there for a week with my friend John Vasconcellos, who
let me stay with him before he Termed out.
Sacramento is moved by the influence of Lobbyists.
I had the feel then, that I could be a Lobbyist real good.
One morning, John and I sat in my an breakfast sponsored
by Nannotech Scientists. I learned about Nannotech at the GMO
conference years ago. You think GMO Foods are bad??????
Nannotech is 10 x dangerous for food tech. John had no clue
what he was listening to. He, and the other Legislators where
eating breakfast and finding out and wanting to help these guys
who basically were Lobbyists.
Do you get the picture? That is how Sacramento works.
Breakfast meetings every day. Lobbyists pitching this and that.
Can you see my Ripe Images in the Cafe where these Legislators
eat? I can. Can you see Locally Grown Organic Food in served
up there? I can. Can you see a garden outside the door of the South
end of the Capital in Capital Park so they see what a Real Tree looks
like, and maybe sit on a bench in an aromatic Enchanted Garden. I can.
All that came back to me today, when I planted this Seed Dream
for the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
I am looking forward to coming back here for the Races
and meeting the Chefs, and visiting my new friend Jorge, the Waiter,
who today signed a Love Letter to Joe the Farmer.

1985 -- Del Mar completes an underground tunnel into its infield and fans flock to the center of the track for picnics, rays, Frisbee flings and close-up views of the thoroughbred action. It quickly becomes hard to believe that the infield hasn't been part of the track forever.
Their is already a garden now here in the infield.
I visited it when I when to the Del Mar Fair.
I won some Blue Ribbons here for food one year,
but have not been back. Now I have reason to go back....
The Del Mar Fair begins in June, and runs through July 4.
