Working with the clay patch: Most important is to develop the microorganisms. Microorganisms aerobic ones grow in the top 3 - 4 inches of soil I would not double dig the soil. I would put all organic matter down in the top 3-4 inch area and then add EM, effective microorganisms, available from em.com or maybe effective microorganism.com, as well as micorhizzal fungi available from
http://www.Fungiperfecti.com.
Identical growing conditions reported.
The larger growth had mutually beneficial fungi.
See the website URL above.
Forf the first month I would add both of these everytime organic matter is added. I do this by mixing some in water and wetting the area that I want to treat, maybe from a watering can. The EM is actually anaerobic, related to digestive bacteria, but these two together seem along with proper ceremony -- invoking love and peace -- ideally once a day for a period of weeks, seems to build an amazingly quick and effective topsoil.
[Note: There is a meditation in one of the Essene School of Thought
Audio tapes that also says it is possible to make Topsoil through
"Benevolent Mind Technology, i.e, meditations on the soil. This
could be part of a Kabbalah for the Holy Earth.] You do not need to dig or break up the clots, the microorganisms plus earth worms will do all of this. It would be good also to take some some good top soil from another place on the land and bring in maybe or 5 gallon bucket or two to this area (again for microorganisms)
There is a woman in France whose name I cannot come up with whose work is based on Fukuwoka's work, who talks a lot about the microorganisms. She works with raised beds and never steps on them, as any weight damages the microorganisms.
As for the rest of the garden important stuff comes to me from inside of me and nothing is coming, often I have to wait until over a night and sometimes longer. I am in a kind of shutt down place.
Thanks for the tour.
