Today's sunshine warmed me as I played in the soil at the Enchanted Garden. Double digging is the project of the day. So we are talking about creating a 24" deep hole. As I get further down into the Mother Earth the soil is more and more clay. The clay soil is being laid down onto the paths. Each slice of earth is then individually walked upon and compacted into the solid path that will run between each double dug bed. See photo for a view of one of those paths. Digging in the soil I find little tiny skinny earth worms. They tell me how they have been busy searching for food and working thru all the soil. The clay is a slow trip. The worms are looking forward to their new enviroment. Mother Earth is grateful for the atttention and I am grateful for the opportunity to be in touch with the earth on such and intimate level. All this is very grounding for me and supports me in my many other endeavors. So be it.
