from the Introduction:

Leslie Goldman's "Rekindling of Faith is a poetic statement
played through an instrument narled by physical hardship, yet sung
in a voice of acceptance. Leslie's poetry carries a clarity that comes
through years of self-analysis and unrecorded hours of dialogue
with a personal God.

"I want my body back.
I want what it seems
I can't have, to move freely,
to propel the energy
of this mind through my body."

Leslie later writes:

"Life rises unceasingly
and I too with it
Mr. Mulberry Tree tells me
without saying a word.
Puny he is
he doesn't look like much
but he is a big stick
to my soul
and so beautiful."

"I come more to realize now
I am in this world to see a dream,,
to take something inside me
and give it form,
to breathe life into it."

Leslie has breathed life into physical pain
and rejection. He speaks for those who suffer,
entrapped by silent blocked emotions.

His giftis to evoke within each reader both
the joyful and painful memories of the past.
In so doing, Leslie brings to his audience the light
of understanding and the cure of forgiveness.
Like the bodhissattva, Leslie Goldman's journey is not over;
yet "Rekindling of Faith" is a psalm that absorbs
some of life's suffering for all of us.

"I have determined to live
as a current in the stream of life
as a grounding point for planting peace
in the body of one human."

"Thank you, most of all Leslie,
for all your indescribable hardships.
Thank you arthritis, thank you hernias,
thank you headaches,and backaches.
Thank you heartbreaks, and dreams passed by.
Thank you raccoon, and field mice.
Thank you torrential downpours, and hurricanes.
Thank you for lessons learned from all
of her creations, from all the carvings
on the canyon walls to everything in the compost pile.
You are blessed beyond any limits your mind
may still hold. Your inspiration, in towers
of volumes and notebooks, will change ten
million lives."
