Wynelle has been a member of the Moosewood Collective since 1984. She has worked in the restaurant as a cook, dining room manager, scheduler, caterer, and publicity coordinator. She has been a menu planner and has tracked inventory and ordered supplies and produce. One of Wynnie's fortes is organization: she has been instrumental in developing several of our operational systems. As a publicity coordinator, she has been responsible for organizing, scheduling and conducting seminar/conference presentations, book signings, food demonstrations, cooking demonstrations, and interviews for print, radio and television. In recent years, Wynelle has taken on the challenge of developing and overseeing a new line of Moosewood prepared food products that was recently introduced to colleges/universities, foodservice operators, supermarkets and natural foods stores nationwide. She has worked on product development, quality control, marketing and merchandising for our refrigerated and frozen soups, frozen sauces and frozen entrees, and is the managing director of our marketing office, Moosewood Pantry. In this position she is an interface for Moosewood Inc. and works in collaboration with Fairfield Farm Kitchens, our manufacturing partner, on these new ventures. Wynelle is also co-author of nine of the cookbooks by the Moosewood Collective:

¨ New Recipes from the Moosewood Restaurant (1987, Ten Speed Press)
¨ Sundays at Moosewood Restaurant (1990, Simon and Schuster)
¨ Moosewood Restaurant Cooks at Home (1994, Simon and Schuster)
¨ Moosewood Restaurant Cooks for a Crowd (1996, John Wiley)
¨ Moosewood Restaurant's Book of Desserts (1997, Clarkson Potter)
¨ Moosewood Restaurant Daily Special (1999, Clarkson Potter)
¨ Moosewood Restaurant New Classics (2001, Clarkson Potter)
¨ Moosewood Restaurant Celebrates (2003, Clarkson Potter)
¨ Moosewood Restaurant Simple Suppers (2005, Clarkson Potter)

Wynelle's cookbook work has included managing the distribution and flow of work by the author collective, recipe development, writing and editing, management of recipe development teams, writing proposals, and acting as liaison with our agents and publishers' editors and publicity departments.

Wynelle trained with the Lisa Ekus Public Relations Company. She has represented Moosewood at numerous presentations, book signings, food demonstrations, and interviews. She has appeared at the 1993 Farberware Cooking Demonstration at the Gourmet Products Show in San Francisco and at the James Beard Foundation Culinary Festival and Readable Feasts in New York City in 1994, 1995, and 1996. She was a featured chef presenting Moosewood recipes on the Food Network's cooking show, Chef Du Jour. Wynelle has been interviewed and demonstrated Moosewood recipes for PBS' Vegetarian Times video series and the Food Network, and has been interviewed for features in Bon Appetit with Richard Sax and with Paul Theroux, American Airlines Magazine, and "New York Times-Cooks on the Map" with Nancy Harmon Jenkins. Included in her radio interviews is an in-depth interview by the Lynn Haultain for the Australian Broadcasting Commission.

Currently, Wynnie is particularly interested in consulting and teaching in the challenging area of professional food service. Her work on recipe selection and adaptation and writing of the menu planning section for Moosewood Restaurant Cooks for a Crowd has given her an increased awareness and enthusiasm for the possibility of creating excellent vegetarian and natural foods menus for institutional settings, hospitals, college dining facilities, and business cafeterias. She has consulted on procurement and menu planning for Bon Appetit Mgt. Co., a national food service company. She has presented sessions on vegetarian product management for Tops Supermarkets and a session titled "Marketing Good-for-You Nutrition" for the CBORD Group, Inc. annual users' conference in Ithaca, NY. Wynelle has presented a session on Vegetarian Menus and Marketing as a featured speaker at the National Restaurant Association Show.

Wynnie spends her leisure time working in her gardens, singing in a community chorus, cooking and laughing with her friends, and, forever, reading.
