Spiritual housecleaning is important nows if we want to make it out of our personal enslavements!
Date: 4/7/2006 10:26:20 AM ( 18 y ago)
Just got off the phone with Ariella
who is in Wisconsin checking out
a hyperbolic chamber for autistic kids.
We will be tent mates next weekend
in Joshua Tree National Park as
part of a powerful Tribal gathering
of mystics who put together a tent
and then make passage out of slavery.
That's the metaphor for Passover
that coinsides this year again
with the Resurrection.
Lots of spiritual miles to travel
and paying attention to the details
of physical cleaning is important right now.
Ariella refers me to this site.
I want to refer you there too.
Let's get in and do some Feng Shui!

Check out this word reminder to learn a great way to remember the process of spiritual housecleaning. Use the acronym D.U.S.T. to beautify your home and heal the space within you!
D DISCOVER THE DIRT.
Discover where the dirt is. Which room (and part of your life) is most compelling today? Which room do you love the most, avoid the most, feel you can’t keep clean, or find you can’t leave? That’s the place to start. There's a story there that will lead you to the healing changes you need today.
U UNDERSTAND THE USE.
Understand the use of the room for your basic practical needs AND the meaning to your soul needs. For example, the kitchen is about “nurturance.” Of course it should provide you with good food! Additionally, it should offer a warm feeling of connection and support when you sit down to break bread with people you love and talk to one another. When the kitchen is put right, it nourishes your body and nurtures your spirit. Every room has a use and a meaning. (See the book for a complete discussion of the use and meaning of each room. Buy it now!)
S SCREEN THE STORIES
Screen the stories that come up from your things, your space, and your experience of cleaning the room. The stories embedded in the things you have around you can tell you about your past; the condition your home is in tells you about your present situation; and the way you feel in the room tells you about what's in store for your possible future if everything stays as it is. Some of these stories will be negative (Critical Aunt Bertha’s vase in the foyer nipping at your self esteem); maybe they’ll show you what’s missing in your life and spur you to make a change. Other stories will remind you of positive experiences, good memories, hopes that are still alive, and things you are grateful for. These to might inspire you to make a change to enhance the support that is available to you. Notice it all, taking care to screen what’s useful to you (the treasures) from what’s not (the trash). You will need paper and pen to help you "zone your feelings," as you sort and categorize the things you are cleaning and cleaning out.*
T TAKE ACTION ~ TRASH & TREASURE
Take action with both your trash and your treasures. If the there is something that feels like it trashes your spirit, toss it. Maybe it’s that set of dishes your step mother pawned off on you that reminds you of those awful childhood dinners full of fighting and interrogation. Now you swallow that negativity with each bite. You don't have to—you can replace them! But if you have something that seems to treasure your very being, then treasure it—you need this kind of support for strength. Your favorite chair, for instance. Maybe it would feel even better if you had it re-covered. Whatever you do, don't throw it out! Take an action beyond cleaning—polish and add to your treasures, filling your house with positive energy, encouraging your dreams. And dump that trash. If you're not ready to throw something out, pack it up in a nice box that honors the process these things represent; label it in great detail, and put it away for a later time. Go at your own pace, one zone at a time.
