The closest I ever came in this life
to participating in a birth was through my
friendship with Penna Casanova.

16 years ago, she was a student at SDSU.
We had this vetegarian polluck each tuesday.
Penny and i became great friends.

She asked me to take photos of the pregnancy
and birth of her daughter Nadine. Nadine was
born in a water tank at the I House. That was a real
education for the students of SDSU who attended this
birth.

Many of the photos were taken in the backyard
here at the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community.

When I showed the book that came out later to men,.
they would soften. I sense that if more men had the opportunity
to participate in natural births, we would all be more sensitives
and respectful for life.

The first smell Nadine had in her lungs was Peppermint
Scented Geranium from Your Enchanted Gardener.

Penny would travel back and forth to New Orleans.
She is very family oriented and I remember she would
speak highly of her grandma.

30 of her family members were influenced by the Katrina Hurricane.
Tonight, the San Diego Tantra Tribalists are going to do a rather
out of the box night of gaiety at the home of Anastas and Steven
in La Costa. There is room for out of towners. If you want to
experience something on the edge, I would recommend
attended this FUN Raiser that begins in the afternoon and goes
through the wee night hours.

I will set up an Altar, and read My Goddess Prayer for You,
one of the Seven Love Cures.

I will have some of those birthing/pregancy photos of Penny on
the Altar.
