The Power of Now is Now. Here is a retelling of a Story by Dr. Bernard Jensen.

The Power of Now is
a popular book these days.
I have a friend Sherril East
who valued this book very much
and lived by it.

Sherril was a source of
my delicious Bee Pollen and
raw unccoked honey
that I bought for many years
at the Farmers" Market.

I was not able to honor
Sherril's passing.
His memorial was last Saturday
the same time the Elijah Minyan
was here at the Enchanted Garden

Sherril was the preacher at the Farmers' Market.
He was also The Egg Man
and one of the most spiritually cantangerous men
who high judgement I have met.

He was also very loving.
I never really knew that he had Cancer.
Months ago, he stopped coming to the Market
and his cousin Rob took over providing us
with bee pollen and raw honey.

Dr. Bernard Jensen had his version of The Power of Now.

He told a story about a man who was being chased
by Wild Beasts.

He went to the Edge of a Cliff.

He had no where else to go but down.

He found a vine
and slowly Thought he could escape
from these Wild Frightening Beasts.

He started going down the Vine.

Suddenly he looked down to the water
at the bottom.

There is a pool that he thought safe
was a gathering of Crocodiles.

There were the most Frightening Crocodiles
he had ever seen.

What could he do????

He could not go Up.
He could not go Down.

His anxiety level was building.
There was no where to go where he could find safety.

Suddenly, he realized that right in Front of his Face
there was a little ledge.

He was so anxious about what was Behind Him
and What was Ahead of him
that he failed to look right there
right in front of him.

On the corner of the ledge
the Sun was shining
and at the very edge
there was a strawberry plant
with the most luscious Garden variety
Ripe Berry he had ever seen.

The more intently he looked,
the more he saw other Berries
that at first were Hidden from his view
because he was not Present with the scene.
The Pleasure of being Here Now was
Intense in all its beauty.

He was so taken aback with the Mystery
that here on this Ledge was this Luscious
Ripe Strawberry that he completely forgot
what was Behind or Ahead of him.

In that Moment he felt so very Happy
and all his needs were met.

He was present.
He found his way onto the ledge
was he was Safe and Sound.

He became absorbed in the Present
and Nothing else mattered,
only Now
and Now
and Now.
