I usually play a raga... each raga has a certain mood (called rasa),
and is appropriate for certain times of the day or seasons...
for example, morning ragas are more reflective and contemplative, afternoon ragas are peaceful, evening night-time ragas are more uplifting and joyous, and midnight and after midnight ragas can be very sorrowful. some of the evening ragas have a romantic quality to them.
