Bought a "Norm" Challah at the Jewish Bakery and felt bad. I hope this is the last time I have not taken time to prepare a Sacred Challah.

Less than 24 hours
for the arrival of the Elijah
Minyan in the Enchanted Garden.
I am playing with Prophetic Fancies
in my head.
What if Elijah the Prophet
were coming here, and we had
less that 24 hours????
In the Jewish Mystical Tradition
Elijah comes as a Forerunner
for the Messiah.
There is a beautiful quote in the
Prayer book of Rabbi Stan Levy
that goes something like this:
Treat the person next to you
as if they are the Messiah...
There is more to it...
Maybe I will find it when I am rested.
Just came home from running some errands.
I am in conflict about the quality of Challah
that will be served here tomorrow.
I was taking a photo of the Challah.
The owner of the bakery saw me.
He came up and said,
"Why are you taking a photo of my Challah?"
I said I was writing a story.
He said,
"My Trademark,
My patent,
My Logo,
all this is Copyright.
Even the Way I braid the bread--
this is MY trademark!!!!"
My mind was tired from too much work.
I was in no shape to take his energy on.
He asked what the story was about.
I may have said it had something to do with
making a healthy Challah.
He said that he makes a whole wheat Challah,
but it has to be ordered by Tuesday.
It was all sold out.
I hadn't the energy to tell him
that most people are now allergic to whole wheat.
I bought two Challah's, one round with raisins,
the other egg.
I bought some wine,
and some grape juice.
The bill was more around $18.00,
a good Jewish number signifying Life.
I was feeling unnerved and caught Red Handed.
I felt some of my Jewish Discomfort coming up.
I was feeling my criminal self talk,
the part of me that has broken all the Jewish Laws
and suffered the death of eating bacon
when I was 14.
So I bought an "Everytning Bagel"
and ate it.
