What is Trash? What is Recycling? What is Yard Waste? It's all part of The Great Earth Clean Up. Knowing the difference betwee What is Trash, What is Recycling, and what is Yard Waste has Biblical Prophetic Implications when I have my Essene hat on. Tomorrow the Elijah Minyan comes to our Garden. That is the name for one of our local Jewish Renewal Communities.

Bought a Six Pack of Beer
for Stewart, the man who works for the
City and empties our Yard Waste barrels every other week.
I bought him Dos Equis.
Turns out he said he liked Heinikin.
He appreciated it anyway.
$7.99 worth of friendship and good will.
First time in my life I every bought Beer.
We had 15 barrels go out this morning,
not to mention all the yard trimmings
we took to the compost pile
this week that Mother Earth
will turn into new fertile soil.
Friday is can take out day,
and every other week,
there are three different trucks
that show up.
Every week the "Trash"
goes out in the black barrels.
And every other week Stewart
comes.
Then the Recycling man cometh.
At some point, Elijah comes, to blow
his horn to let us know this is a Moment
of Awakening.
In the Jewish Tradition Elijah comes
as a forerunner to alert us that the Messiah
is on the Way.
Every Shabbat closing, there is a Prayer
ceremony called Havdalah. There is a prayer
for Elijah. The Jewish people sniff spices,
light a candle, dip fingers in wine, and make
mention of Gan Eden, if I am not mistaken.
Gan Eden is of course the Enchanted Garden.
In the Christian tradition, the Messiah
has already come.
In the Jewish tradition, we are still waiting.
In the Essene tradition, the Messiah comes
and comes, and keeps coming until
we call Get It.
Elijah, in Essene Lore, has the school of
Prophesy at Mt Carmel. This was an Essene
School. This same Soul later reincarnates
as John the Baptist who is the Biblical personality
who announces the coming of Jesus.
Go figure.
In the Essene tradition, we may be
Standing in Line in the Super Market
of Life, but we are not Waiting.
I imagine getting a clearer understanding
of what is yard waste, what is trash,
and what is recycling will help the Messiah come
again sooner into all of us.
It's all part of The Great Earth Clean Up,
and the Clean Up is impossible without our
participation.
This Earth--in all its Enchanted Garden Return--
may be as close as we will ever get to Paradise.
I imagine Paradise is already here
if we can go slow enough to be a part of it.
and learn to separate what is Trash from
what is intended
to go back to the Earth.
In my Mind, it's all Connected,
and very much a part of the
Birds and the Bees, and a ripe
organic strawberry now and then.
Love from Your Enchanted Gardener,
Leslie
