Cataract Cure

Years ago, I had a fond relationship
with Sister Sarita, a Psychic Surgeon
who did healing work in San Diego.
I hope she is still alive.
I need to make contact.
She would be much older now.
I believe the last time I saw her
was during the late 80's.

Back then, She had a Healing Temple
near Logan Heights a poorer Hispanic area
of San Diego where you found tortilla shops
and gangs.

I felt a bit comfortable there because of her
energy. The neighborhood felt like Boyle Heights,
the Hispanic-Jewish area in East L.A.
where I grew up.

Her home was next door.
She had two sons, one was Hymie,
the other Miguel.

Miquet was not known back then.
Now he is.

He has written a book called The Four Agreements.
I believe he was an M.D.
Either he was, or his brother.

There was a remedy that Sister Sarita used
to heal Cataracts.

It is a very common plant on our property:
Jade.

I cannot say exactly how she used it.
I sense she found a way to place the plant on the eye.

Interestingly, as with many plants,
the signature of the Jade plant is similar to the shape
of the eye.

Yesterday, I was treating our Jade plants
as garbage.

I was standing over a barrel of Jade
that had been "edited" from one area
of our Enchanted Garden by Anna.

It was lying in a pile.
Her intent was to clear a path that had not
been opened in numbers of years.

The Jade was In the Way
So here it lay, a pile of broken Jade
intermixed with a kind of Aloe that had
taken over the path as well.

The Aloe was a gift from a Holy Visitor
as I recall, an Essene friend who I have
now long forgotten. They gave that plant
somewhere in the early 80's. As I
recall, the giver may have been BlueSky,
who is now a Sufi Mystic.

Back then, he was a drummer and communitarian.
We would meet at a place called Healing Waters
in Eden, Arizona on the equinoxes and solstices.

The Aloe had the energy of the Great Native American,
Cochese (Sp?) , The Apache Warrior.
It was from his garden or a garden of one of his ancestors.

So here it lay as well in the pile of "Trash".

IT was smashing the corner of the Fairy Garden,
an area of Peppermint Scented Geranium
that speaks to me.

It literally speaks to me.
IF I go there and speak to it,
it starts dancing. The wind comes up
after it starts moving.

IT is so happy to be seen as many plants.
It is really quite a Fairy Village, made of
this one plant that Anna imagined was being
intrusive on the Path she was remaking.

She had her clipper on one thing:
the Path. I asked her to put the cuttings of the
Peppermint Geranium in water so I could root them,
but Sunday afternoon, when I came back to the Enchanted Garden
from the Farmers' Market, here were three plants all
in a large pile: The Aloe, The Jade, and the Scented Peppermint.
The Scented Peppermint wasnow withering
and dying while its kins women Villagers
were screaming in fear that I would not protect
the rest of them.

I immediately got down on my knees
and starting to pull the pile off the still alive
peppermint Scented Geranium underneath.

I first made some space between it and the still-
in-the-ground stand of Peppermint Scented Geranium.

I too had something else on my mind.
I wanted to be working some other area of the garden,
but I knew that if I had any chance of saving any
of the Geraniums for later cuttings, I had to move fast.
They were losing Life Force by the minute.

I got a large barrel, one for Yard Waste.
I was wearing white pants but I did not care.
I started to load the "Waste" into the barrel.

Then, I filled one more barrel.
and Moved the barrels away from the remaining
Fairy Village.

The rest of the stand felt a little more protected
but they were still in shock. I am surprised they
talked to me at all.

I am not sure that is where Anna would have stopped.
I am not sure how much of the Fairy Village
she might have dug up.
It has happened before, to all of us here.
Some plant that we held as sacred
is not seen by others as sacred.

She does not know it is a Fairy Village.
She is sensitive to plants generally,
but I know she probably had some where else to go
and something else to do, as most of us.

So here she left a pile, and I was angry
and making up new Rules in my head,
such as don't leave piles.
Complete.

After the pile was cleaned up, I pulled other
bits and pieces off the Scented Geraniums.
Some were smashed against the ground,
some were turned upside down, like fish
look in the water when they are near dying
or about to give up on life.

I had the barrels moved to the front of the house
where they would be taken off the propery.

Then, I remembered: Jade and other succulents
need to go in the black barrels.
The city will not even use them as mulch.

Today, I was standing around the barrels,
appreciating how easily the jade breaks.
You do not even need a clipper.
It is kind of satisfying to have so much power
over a plant.

Click! Click! Snap! Snap!

They make a satisfying sound as you break them
in small pieces.

As I was doing this, Your Enchanted Gardener,
my Soul Presence, started to do some listening
as Leslie, the Cleanup Manager, was busy snapping.

Your Enchanted Gardener, another part of me,
was in touch with The Essene Way.

The Essene Way reminded me
that when Edmond Bordeaux Szekely left the area
before the Nazi's took over Europe,
he finally landed in Tecate,
a city about 1 1/2 hours from here
in the EG Mobile, right across the border.

The land was not too fruitful where he landed,
but one of its amenities was an orchard of Grapes.

Back then, folks into health took "The Grape Cure"
for cancer and deep cleansing.

What did Szekely do?
Of course, because he had Grapes, he FOCUSED
his energy on earning his Way from the Grapes.

Within a period of years, the Essene School of Life
was founded here as people came to hear his
lectures and take The Grape Cure.

Last I saw, some of those Old grapes are still growing
in this, what would be the 100th anniversary of Edmond
Bordeaux Szekely, the Essene renaissance prophet.

Surrounding the Grapes is an entire Spa, Rancho La Puerta,
that is the second largest employer of people in Tecate,
next to Tecate Beer.

Rancho La Puerta is where the Fitness Revolution began
in 1940, the Ranch information says.

Rancho La Puerta started with some Grapes, and some
Seed Dreams.

You ou and I might have
just clipped those Grapes
to get on with the way of Making A Living
or DOING something else we had in mind.
