Running Our "Soul" Energy: Discovering a Key for building up energy for what you and I need to do to achieve better health.

In 1998, I had my International Debut as a teacher. William Spear, author of "Feng Shui Made Easy" invited me to teach at the Feng Shui and Ecology Conference he was having at Kipalu yoga center in Connecticut. Three days before the plane took off, I tripped and fell at Kinko's and broke a bone in my knee. When I called the friend who was scheduled to take me to the airport, the first thing she said was, "Gee that's too bad! You really wanted to go on that trip!" It never dawned on me that I would not go or could not go in spite of crutches, wheelchair, and pain.
Thanks to Western Meds-- I rarely take them--the pain issue was not a problem. In fact, it made the long plane ride easier. I was drowsy most of the way.
When I arrived in Connecticut, a dear friend, Lurrae, picked me up at the airport. It was about a week before the conference. On the days when she was working, her house keeper helped me.
I had wanted to see Walden Pond. I was not going to let the broken knee stop me. We took a trip there before the conference. I felt I was keeping a 100-year-old date with an old friend--Henry David Thoreau. I wasn't going to miss that for anything in the world.
My class at the conference was a big hit. I was one of the last speakers to give a class. There were about 30-40 attendees and eight other teachers. No one had heard of me. I spoke from the heart, and did some of the things that I generally do when I teach "Plant Your Dream!" A number of people shed tears as I read my poems and lead the group in planting our intentions with living seeds.
In spite of being 3000 miles from home, and not being able to carry a single plant, the room had an array of living baby herbs, seeds and natural ambiance. I got all the help I needed simply by asking.
Before I left the state, I wanted to visit Bill Spear's office. My workshop has been a tremendous success. I asked him, "What was possible next between us?" His response was, " I am more interested in what is impossible between us!"
I never forgot his words.
So many of us at Cure Zone are using these Blogs and the Forums to really educate ourselves about health. There is something very powerful about sharing our healing journeys through highs as well as the pitfalls. It is very healing to know someone else is out there on a similar path.
There are many times when I feel discouraged or depressed, especially when I am taking on the more difficult issues and blocks in my life. Some of my blocks seem so difficult and ongoing that I ever wonder if it is possible to achieve the dreams I have.
Other times, I have discovered that when I am running the energy of my Soul--in other words--doing what I am meant to do--I am tapping into a deeper energy of wholeness that carries me.
On that trip to Connecticut I was in that Soul energy.
I know what it is like to be so crippled that I cannot spread my legs apart more than 1/4 inch, and I know that it is possible to regain the ability to walk.
This morning as I write I can see a glimmer of light regarding the difficult issues and individual dynamics that have been stealing and burying my soul energies here at home.
I can imagine getting through these difficult issues that have been holding me in low self esteem.
And this morning, I want to pass along the words of Bill Spear because nothing is impossible.
