Raw Food Recipes: Smoothies


Smoothies are rich, thick, sweet, satisfying drinks made out of whole fruits, frozen fruits, fruit juices, and sometimes nuts, seeds, or other ingredients. Smoothies are popular in juice bars around the world. You will find more information about smoothies in the book The Sunfood Cuisine, along with many more vegan recipe.

Persimmon Madness


5 persimmons, without skin and seeds
2 cups of orange juice
1 cup of frozen berries

Blend all ingredients and serve.

Orange-Avo


3-4 oranges
3-4 dates
1/2 avocado
1 banana

Blend all ingredients and serve.

Tangerine Dreams


1 cup of tangerine juice
2 ripe bananas
1 ripe papaya, seeded, skin removed, and diced

Blend all ingredients and serve.

Mango Passion


2 cups of fresh-squeezed orange juice
2 cups of mango flesh (about 3-4 mangoes)

Blend for creamy heaven.

Optional: Blend with 1t of spirulina for a green fortified drink.

June Smoothie


1/2 Mexican papaya, seeded and peeled. (how much?)
20-30 pitted cherries

Blend all ingredients and serve.

The Ultimate Smoothie


1 cup of fresh-squeezed orange juice
Flesh of 2 mangos
8 oz. (small package) of fresh or frozen blueberries
1 frozen or fresh banana
2T flax seeds
1t honey or maple syrup (optional)

Blend all ingredients and serve.

Banana/ Apricot Smoothie

banana
fresh apricot
ice
bit of water
bit of honey ( i used it but u dont have to)

so simple, but so yumm and nice colour too!

really yummy smoothie


4 bananas
1-2 very ripe peaches

chill the peaches in the freezer for an hour of so
_then blend and serve with dried coconut on top
to family and friends who are not raw_
they generally see my lifestyle differently
after enjoying a salad with home-made dressing
and this smoothie for dessert.

Banana Smoothies

5-6 bananas
5-6 dates (pitted of course)
1/4 cup distilled water

Mix in blender until smooth. Divine

5-6 bananas
1/2 pint strawberries
1/2 pineapple
1/4 cup distilled water

Mix in blender until smooth. Yummy!!

orange julius


3 bananas per every 2 tangerines
could probably be made with oranges)

Peel and deseed the tangerines
and put them in the blender first.
Blend (with top on trust me on this one)
with just a tiny bit of water to help it get started.

Leave the blender on while you peel the bananas
.
Pull the banana part in about 4 pieces and drop them in,
blender : still going so dont get your fingers in the

Let this blend well so that the tangerine segment skins
(tough part that holds the segments apart)
gets completely blended.
Then toss in about a cup of ice,
Blend for just a bit more and then pour in glass
and drink immediately.

Banana Soup(or Smoothie)

In the blender,
blend at a very slow speed until smooth.

5-6 bananas
1/2 pineapple
Add about a 1/4 cup of distilled water
to ensure everything blends well.

Pour into a bowl and top with berries of your choice.

An absolutely yummy dinner meal.
Nothing better than eating dessert for dinner.
