A tip on the power of listening

Listening:

There's an old saying: "God gave us two ears and one
mouth", meaning we should listen twice as much as we talk. Do you know how to
listen? Of course! Easy! Well, here's a useful technique anyway called
"Active Listening": You give someone (lover, partner, friend, child) an
opportunity to talk and you promise you will not interrupt. When they
have completely finished, you rephrase what they said (what you heard)
and you both clarify and understand their position. Then it's your turn.
This is listening, This is understanding.
