I've been a vegan Raw Foodist for almost three years now! That means all I eat is fresh fruit, raw veggies, fresh fruit and vegetable juices, sprouts, and some nuts and seeds. I don't eat anything that has been cooked/heated over 108F degrees, and I don't eat grains or any animal products except for bee pollen and honey sometimes. I probably eat 50% fruit, 40% vetetables, and 10% fats/proteins, in the form of coconuts, avocados, hempseed protein powder, nuts, and seeds. I take vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and herbs too, along with spirulina, chlorella, and sometimes a green powder called Vitamineral Green. I love the teachings of Ann Wigmore, the Mother of Wheatgrass!! She is the actual inventor of wheatgrass juice!! I believe wheatgrass juice is totally miraculous, and try to drink 2-5 ounces every day, along with a huge glass of veggie juice. I grow a lot of wheatgrass!
My daily diet is pretty consistant, I work out when I get up, (and again in the late afternoon usually) and drink lots of water, so I usually don't eat anything until noon or even later in the afternoon! (Unless I have some really exciting fruit) Crazy, I know, but I'm just not hungry until until then. Mostly I have wheatgrass juice first, followed by vegetable juice (celery, parsley, cilantro, carrots, beets, greens, cucumbers, apples, ginger, garlic) but if I have super yummy ripe fruit, I'll eat that as my first meal of the day. For dinner, it's usually a salad of sprouted greens (I grow my own buckwheat and sunflower greens, and radish, cabbage, broccoli, alfalfa, red clover, lentils, and fenugreek sprouts) tomatoes, mushrooms and a flaxseed/fresh lemon juice or apple cider vinegar dressing, or fresh salsa, and maybe a creamy sprouted nut dip with either dehydrated flaxseed crackers or red bell peppers. I always have the wheatgrass and veggie juice everyday, but in the summer, I eat a lot more fruit, so sometimes I'll eat fruit for dinner instead of salad. I usually snack on fruit throughout the day when I get hungry too. Recently, I discovered the wonder of zuchinni noodles, sliced thin in a spiral slicer, and when I get tired of salads, sometimes I'll have zuchinni pasta with a creamy vegetable sauce. I love making raw desserts, but I hardly ever eat them! Probably because I like plain fruit better. The fridge usually has 3 different kinds of cookies in it that will eventually be bird food, because I won't get around to eating them. But my favorite desserts to make include fruit pies with almond and honey crusts, carob nut milk, carob brownies, frozen fruit "ice cream", and either apricot or carob/coconut cookies! I always get excited about "gourmet" raw food, but can only eat a tiny bit, especially anything dehydrated, even flaxseed crackers. I love my fruit, juice, and salads best!
I love exercising all the time because it makes me feel terrific! I am in love with endorphins and I worship antioxidants. My favorite forms of exercise are Running on the Beach, dancing, jogging, jump roping, hiking, elliptical, yoga, running stairs, biking, and tree climbing.
I'm vegan because I love animals, and I can't stand the way they are treated in the meat and dairy industry.
