Sometimes I used odd materials in my art; this one uses dryer lint.

Recycled cardboard and plastic mesh, tissue paper, nontoxic glue, dryer lint, pennies, metal clips, braided waxed linen thread hanger

This is a rather odd-ball Eco Art. The lint came out of the dryer all-of-one-piece from a maroon colored sweatshirt; it was saved for years before using it for this art piece. The pennies were sitting on my bathroom sink, and over the years the copper coated pennies showed touches of turquoise and white corrosion from moisture. The purple mesh was once a vegetable sack from the grocery store. Rather than paint the cardboard backing, I first used white gesso then collaged over it with pieces of purple-pink tissue paper to add texture to the background. The clips are actually more decorative than utilitarian, as the lint and pennies are firmly glued onto the cardboard backing, with the mesh both underneath and on top of the lint. The name "lucky lint" is of course, a tongue-in-cheek reference to "lucky pennies". It has long been my habit, when finding a penny or receiving pennies as change, to throw them around inside my car, or toss them out onto the sidewalk for kids to find, giving "luck" to the finder.

To see fantastic art made from lint, take a look at Slater Barron's work, the "Lint Lady" of Long Beach, and be sure to watch the YouTube video interview between Slater and Huell Howser posted in this article: https://lbpost.com/hi-lo/lint-lady-long-beach-artist-slater-barron-dies-at-89
