Everyone has always been troubled with questions about certain things. With such lingering thoughts, one strives to seek for answers to their queries. When one attempts to answer or understand these questions, it then becomes his or her philosophy. This paper https://mypaperforme.com/ will discuss the author's position on the definition of philosophy amidst the varied stance on the term over time.
Philosophy is defined as a rational inquiry into the form and contents with the intervention of experiences (Krishnananda 17). This position describes philosophy as something that is a well-coordinated and systematic attempt to seek answers to the questions about one's existence. On the other hand, philosophy was also defined as the love for wisdom (Alawsi 3). From these two positions, philosophy revolves around the reasons and processes in finding the truth behind the unending questions of a human mind.
As a human being, philosophy is then the pursuit of providing answers to questions of humanity without bias and pre-conceived influence. Being a rational inquiry, philosophy looks at all the possibilities within the query. It does not limit the attempt to the biological or psychological conditions provided by scientific studies. Also, it is not controlled by faith nor authority, as well as the political aspects of an individual. Instead, philosophy takes all into consideration to provide the highest truth about the query of a human mind.
Therefore, philosophy is indeed a careful investigation of human thoughts by someone who aspires to wisdom. It does not look at only one side but explores the depth and breadth of all possibilities leading to the well-sought truth. As it is the case, philosophy then embodies all forms and contents to make a wise and worthy existence.
