During this time of enforced seclusion, I have been spending more time outside in my own backyard. These two art pieces are reflections of nature.

"Wisdom of the Universe" Eco Art by mayah(c)2020 10" x 10" x 2"
Made from recycled magazine images, acrylic paint, found bird's nest, cardboard, wooden shadow box. I had to take the original backing off of the shadow box frame, as the bird's nest, found in my back yard years ago, was too thick. The backing was replaced with a thinner cardboard to provide more depth to the interior of the shadow box. The bird's nest is quite ingeniously made from what looks to be foam furniture stuffing, woven together with very thin dried grasses.
"Monarch Butterflies" Eco Art by mayah(c)2020 9" x 9"
So, what to do with the nice pressboard backing from the shadow box? Make more art out of it! The backing was layered with scrap material adhered with iron-on fabric glue, hand woven mesh, and recycled magazine, junk mail, and old calendar images of monarch butterflies coated with acrylic and glued onto scrap paper for sturdiness.
"Eco Art by mayah" utilizes reused/recycled and earth-friendlier materials whenever possible.
