The lactic acid that builds up comes because its our body back up system and it keeps our body from shutting down when we don't have much oxygen to use. This is our body's way of helping us but it can also cause the body to be in pain when it heals the tears that are created in the muscles and also when the lactic acid has to be pushed out of our bodies. Lucky for those who like those hard workout there are things you can do so that you won't have to suffer much after those strenuous workouts.
One of the greatest things you can do immediately after a hard workout is taking an ice bath. It helps your body from getting sore buy numbing your body and helps your body to relax and stop contracting after a workout. This will help prevent any soreness that can come from the lactic acid build up that is prone to happen after an intense workout.
The next thing you should do is to drink water and replace your electrolytes. This helps you to not be dehydrated. Dehydration can lead to muscle cramps and nobody wants to cramp up after an intense workout. Making sure your body has enough fluid can also help your muscles to grow.
Eating is also beneficial after a hard workout. Getting the necessary carbs you need to fuel your body is what you need for the next workout. Eating after a workout can help burn the carbs because your body is still working and recovering. Eating after the workout also helps give your body the energy your body needs for the next day.
If you are already sore and want to try to relieve the soreness sitting in a warm bath with epsom salt and alcohol can help soothe your aching body.
Another thing that is good after you are already sore is getting a sports massage and stretching. Stretching helps to stretch out the muscle to provide some relief in the soreness. Getting a sports massage can help with areas you can't reach.
We need to make sure we heal-and-soothe our bodies when we are trying to get optimal results from it. If you want your body to perform to its prime ability you have to make sure that you take care of it to the best of your ability after you are done working out. When we work our bodies super hard we have to make sure that we also work super hard to give out bodies everything it needs to rebuild so that we can continue to work it. If we fail to do so our bodies will fail us sooner or later.
