My old HP Inkjet Printer seems to have developed some creativity recently...is it becoming a sentient machine?

A few days ago, I changed one of the ink cartridges on my old HP printer. The printer went into hibernate mode for a while, then spit out four sheets of printer paper with various patterns on them; in all of the many years I've had the printer, it's never done that. I was told that the printer was just doing a "test run" of the ink jets, but I think the printer is developing its own artistic style.

I thought the patterns were beautiful, so made art out of three of the sheets:


Printer Art #1


Added a photo from an old calendar; hand embroidery around the edges


Added images of milk thistles from a supplement catalog advertisement; mounted on green cardboard. I call it "Digital Garden"



Printer Art #2


...cut out "Venus" from this supplement catalog advertisement. I receive this catalog about once a month and it often has this ad in it; I've used this image of "Venus" several times in other art pieces. The advertisers developed this image from a 1480's painting by Botticelli called "Birth of Venus": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Birth_of_Venus

Framed "Venus" in cardboard packaging material a family member gave me that had contained a video game. I call it "Digital Goddess".



Printer Art #3 I think this is the most creative piece the printer made!


There is so much going on in this piece that I just added two little "steers" from restaurant advertisements; I get these ads a lot and have used the same image in several other art pieces.
