Breathing new life into the Symbol that represents Medicine by YourEnchantedGardener .....

In this Leslie Goldman #YourEnchantedGardener #PlantYourDreamBlog I introduce my heirloom dried gourd, a symbol for Breathing nenewed life into the modern Medical Model. This single snake representation of the ancient Rod of Asclepius is a more accurate symbol of medicine rather than the two snaked Caduceus.

This is the same gourd that dried into the staff that I am using as a representation of the Rod of Asclepius.

Wikipedia has a fascinating research article on the adaptation of the Caduceus to represent Medicine in the minds of some in healthcare.

The Caduceus is the traditional symbol of Hermes and features two snakes winding around an often winged staff. It is often mistakenly used as a symbol of medicine instead of the Rod of Asclepius, especially in the United States. The two-snake Caduceus design has ancient and consistent associations with trade, eloquence, negotiation, alchemy and wisdom.

The modern use of the Caduceus as a symbol of medicine became established in the United States in the late 19th and early 20th century as a result of documented mistakes, misunderstandings and confusion.[1][2][3][4][5]note a[›]

WRITING BELOW IS FROM NOVEMBER 16, THE DAY I RECEIVES MY MRI RESULTS

psyching myself up...

Keep being you every opportunity you can.
Seek out purpose for your life to keep breathing.
Let your actions be out of the Box.
You are born to be uniquely you.

This strange looking dried up gourd that has been my traveling companion since The National Heirloom Exposition
(Next trip: #heirloomExpo, National Heirloom Exposition (8th Annual) Tues-Wed-Thurs, Sept 11-12-13, 2018) weighed in about 10 or more pounds when I Adopted this #PetCelebritySquash.

When it dried, it took on the appearance of a snake. I asked a friend to add some other details to make it look more snake-like.

I was diagnosed with a Renal Cell Carcinoma as a result of a kidney biopsy Aug 7.

My choice as offered, was to undergo a surgery to remove the renal mass, or follow my Dream to travel to NorCal. I travel yearly to support my mission of further helping each of us #WinBackOurSacredSeed through showing clearly how the relationship between our self awareness as a #SacredSeed is enhanced through growing, cultivating and appreciating our inherent relationship to all literal seeds.

I especially revere Heirloom seeds, seeds that have been coveted and loved through the generations. Protecting this indigenous seed-stock is especially meaningful to me; GMO technology rapes and pollutes the integrity of the biodiversity of our seeds, to be blunt.

So here I am. Today is November 16, three days before my 70th birthday.

Today I pay a return visit to the excellent surgery team at UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center.

There is a part of me that feels scared, enough frightened to feel pain in my bladder area, and feel enough stress to cause bleeding and more blood clots this morning.

It has been difficult to accept all the healthy improvement reports I have received in the last month or more, reports that indicate that my kidney function is in s normal range, according to blood tests. (My kidney function was close to needing dialysis in June.)

I believe in natural healing. I believe that through my life I can breathe new life into the Medical Model.

I have proved to myself that drinking raw organic cannabis juice every day for 10 weeks or more could alleviate close to 90 percent of the inflammation and pain from knee joints, where fear takes hold.

Thank you so much to the friends who provided me with fresh organic leaves to work with!

Our belief system is a profound teacher.

I would never discount the overwhelming power in the belief system of Western Medicine, so much so that when I enter the realm of trained specialists today I will carry with me my Healing Rod of Asclepius.*, personified in a dried up gourd, and likely bring as much beauty as I can into this setting.

Nature heals,
but not every patient.
I will continue today to do my best.

.*The Healing Rod of Asclepius:
“The caduceus is the traditional symbol of Hermes and feature two snakes winding around an often winged staff. It is often mistakenly used as a symbol of medicine instead of the Rod of Asclepius, especially in the United States. How to Plant Your Dream http://plantyourdream.net/?p=21492<<

ROD OF ASCLEPIUS SIGNATURE

Original healer’s Rod of Asclepius is appeared at #PacificSymposium2017 (organized by Pacific College of Oriental Medicine - San Diego) at the #plantyourdream altar and the week before at the Academy of Integrated Health and Medicine #AIHM2017 national conferences.

At first intrigued, numbers of attendees were intrigued by the story that I told about this gourds representation of the original healing Rod of Asclepius that represents Medicine.

This Rod has come to represent breathing new life into our Medical System.

A History Of the Caduceus:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_of_Asclepius

“It is relatively common, especially in the United States, to find the caduceus, with its two snakes and wings, used as a symbol of medicine instead of the Rod of Asclepius, with only a single snake. This usage was popularised largely as a result of the adoption of the caduceus as its insignia by the U.S. Army Medical Corps in 1902 at the insistence of a single officer (though there are conflicting claims as to whether this was Capt. Frederick P. Reynolds or Col. John R. van Hoff).[19][20]

The Rod of Asclepius is the dominant symbol for professional healthcare associations in the United States. One survey found that 62% of professional healthcare associations used the rod of Asclepius as their symbol.[21] The same survey found that 76% of commercial healthcare organizations used the Caduceus symbol. The author of the study suggests the difference exists because professional associations are more likely to have a real understanding of the two symbols, whereas commercial organizations are more likely to be concerned with the visual impact a symbol will have in selling their products.”

Testimorial from Liz Lipski

*“I feel I have a future in hospitals.”

“Better hospital than prison.”

Great time at the MRI
At UC San Diego-Thornton Hospital.
November 11, 2017
4:40 pm. Traveling with Adrienne makes things fun.

Liz Lipski wrote "Digestive Wellness."
I met Dr. Liz Lipski at the Scripps Natural Supplement Conference 2015. We planted dreams and she became a an Enchanted Garden Club Member.

She wrote:

“Someone once told me that dreams were for children. Aren’t we all children? Leslie’s work connects people to envision fully, to embrace what’s possible, and to walk forward in hope. He is inspiring and brings us back to what’s essential, and what is uniquely essential. I would love to see him working in hospitals, schools and widely, to plant seeds of hope and dreams like Johnny Appleseed.”
