My menu ended up being...

banana with chia and coffee...half cafe and vitamins. I don't think I ate much. I sat around like a sad sack. Think Auntie Flow had something to do with it. Plus I was a little bummed out.

Left excited and when I arrived at the race start I was...underwhelmed lol... it turned out to be a small town fundraising style marathon. Also the crowd were "elite" fast runners. This was not a beginner or a back of the pack runner like myself.

I've done enough races to know better how to prep. I thought my prep was better BUT what really messed things up for me was the flu shot and also working long hours right before the race.

Weather was a little colder than I expected but the RAIN made my muscles hard and inflexible. This has me thinking...more Wim Hof breathing and exercises are in my future. I stuck to a run for quarter of a mile, walk for a quarter instead of trying to keep up with everyone.

I was alone with Mother Nature the whole race. Six people ran the full marathon and a handful of people ran the half. I went the range of emotions including a lot of self hatred and self consciousness came up. Added to that, the forest was hibernating. Sleeping. I didn't get the same vibe as when did the trail run. It was summer and warm and everything was green.

I finished in 3.5hrs. I only know this because I used a mapmyrun tool. Thank goodness I have new cellphone to do this. Anyway, it is a little humiliating when you realize no one is clapping for you and just for their friends, no took your picture, etc. Left me with some lessons to learn about mental toughness, cliques in small towns, etc. and even my husband said, he wouldn't clap for anyone else if he was waiting in the rain for me.

Anyway, I went to get a FREE 30 min massage. Therapist said my muscles were chilled and indeed I knew I was on the precipice of hypothermia shivering almost uncontrollably. There was NO medical support either so note to self...have your tin foil looking blanket ready. Had the heat in the "toadstool" my Mazda tribute...my magic Japanese toadstool with 150,000mi on it LOL.

I went straight up to the infrared sauna and sat in it till I was warm and stopped shivering! I forgot...I drank water and green juice immediately when I was done. I was so disgusted with the race set up, no finish party, NO f***ING MEDAL!!! WTF... I went home and didn't even take any food. How over it was I? I leaned against a tree and peed my pants LOL...well I was soaked with cold rain haha.

My husband made roast chicken. I ate a banana, some trail mix and a plate of vegetables and roast chicken. I drank kumbucha and that's pretty much it.

Today I will LET IT GO! LET IT GO! lol...my bitterness since so much positives to focus on.

NOTE: Forgot to add that made iskiate, using chia, honey and cinnamon and squeezed it from a baggie just like a GU pack. I also ate, more like choked down LOL...a pack of coconut oil from Trader Joe's.
