How rare is this Eclipse for the United States?
As noted, the focus of the solar eclipse on 21 August 2017 is on the United States. This is exceptionally rare. From Wikipedia - link below - we can garner the following facts:

This will be the first eclipse with a path of totality crossing the USA's Pacific coast and Atlantic coast since 8 June, 1918!!! The August 2017 eclipse will have a magnitude of 1.0306 that will be visible from a narrow corridor through the United States. The Google map in the NASA link shows the path of totality.
This eclipse will be the first total solar eclipse visible from the United States since 1991 (just from part of Hawaii), the first visible from the contiguous United States since 1979.
The path of this eclipse crosses the upcoming path of the total solar eclipse of April 8, 2024. A small land area, including the cities of Carbondale, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Paducah, Kentucky, will thus experience two total solar eclipses within a span of fewer than seven years.

This year, The Total Eclipse has captured my imagination.
Their will be Ten International Festivals around the World happening concurrently during the period of August 21, 2017.
I am leaving my plans Open as best I can.
I would like to be on the Mountain at Oregon Eclipse 2017, and I am leaving it to Spirit in this Moment, in this Year that feels different from many others, to see where I will be on August 21, as well as the days before and following.
One thing is certain, as far as planning: I will be with thousands of you at the The National Heirloom Exposition #HeirloomExpo, SeptemberTuesday September 5- through Thursday September 7, 2017 at the Sonoma Fairgrounds. This its he day that every City needs to proclaim at the Days of Honoring Our #SacredSeed.

WHERE IS THE OREGON ECLIPSE GATHERING?
The cat is out of the bag! The location for Oregon Eclipse 2017 is Big Summit Prairie in the Ochoco National Forest!
Big Summit Prairie is a private ranch of over 55,000 acres featuring FLAT campgrounds, forested areas, and a 52 acre lake (can you say ART BOATS!?!). The property is also 16 miles as the crow flies from the nearest neighbor, so plan on the boom boom being thunderous!
