Nadine's Favorite Ingredients Returns to #ExpoWest

Don and I visited and volunteered at the San Diego Fermentation Festival February 4, 2017. Don was very excited. We have been making various fermented products since I was first introduced to the Fermentation Festival three years ago by Your Enchanted Gardener. I am looking forward to Taste Testing products at this year's Natural Product Expo West #ExpoWest. The event is held March 8-March 12, 2017 at the Anaheim Convention Center. I have attended the show as Press a number of times. In This photo from the San Diego Fermentation Festival is also Cathryn Henning of Wild Willow Farm. She was helping organize the Fermentation Festival. She is holding Leslie's #PetCelebritySquash, a rare Gete Okosomini variety. --Nadine Fournier.

BY NADINE FOURNIER

Three years ago my good friend, The Enchanted Gardener aka Leslie Goldman, introduced me to the Fermentation Festival. My mind was blown, curiosity and inspiration set in.

Austin, the fermenters club founder educates and encourages everyone that they are capable of aiding their health with a few simple ingredients. How empowering and grassrootsy is that!!?
This year I learned about water-kefir grains (and found a reputable source to purchase them), listened in on a lecture on "cottage industry", and made sauerkraut.

There's a whole fermented universe out there, and for that matter I love that the fermentation festival exists.

I am proud that I have made or have in my refrigerator one or more of the following ginger beer, beet kvass, kombucha, sauerkraut, and our newest addition yogurt.

I have helped Leslie at the Hillcrest Farmers Market We were sampling some of the Eden Foods that Michael Potter sent with avocados and gave a few gifts to our farming family at J R Organics CSA Farm.

The Eden Foods were a big hit at the Hillcrest Farmers' Market, as well as products we have sampled for Braggs Live Foods.

For the #PlantYourDreamBlog

On February 4, 2017, Nadine and I, went to the San Diego Fermentation Festival. I was fascinated. I never had any idea it was so easy and healthy to make my own sauerkraut, among other things.
In 5 minutes, I had a jar of cabbage, salt and apples. 2weeks later, we have delicious sauerkraut!
Also, I learned about starting and running a small business, which one day, we will do.
Lots of interesting vendors and products that I had no idea existed.
We will be making and eating (and, hopefully selling!) fermented food from now on!
