Winter Fast - 2 Weeks In

Winter fasting and I'm at the 2 week mark - hooray for me :) !!!
Went for my massive 2 hour bushwalk today and really whizzed through it - I've been urinating frequently the last few days at some part of each day, guess that's part of the detox - got up pretty late and made a big litre of detox lemonade - putting a big chunk of tumeric and ginger thru my juicer with cayenne, a quarter of a medium beet and one green apple & 2 peeled lemons - added lots of warm water to make up the litre and took it on my walk with me, drinking about half of the red/golden drink.
Did Buddhist practice on the long walk, it was spitting a lot of the time & I enjoyed the purifying drizzle and the beauty of the chilly forest dripping with sparkling moisture.
Came home and at around 4pm - I asked my friend to go pick up the new portable 8 trk I bought which had arrived at the post office and a meat pie - I ate the inside mince and the top crust but not the shell with ketchup - so had that as food today aside from that, only the liquids - my period is almost here and I started getting headachey which I know from many fasts past is a sign of low iron (I have been doing increasingly more fasting and long fasting plus often eat veggie over the last few years and that aspect has caught up with me) so I thought eating the mince would help - also took a couple advil and had a bath and sauna again, scrubbing my skin - feel really good now, relaxed, warm inside and out, scrubbed and glowing and happy :)
It's good, this fast continuing on, I'm not bothered by the little food I've consumed this last 5 days - it's my first winter fast and I'm noticing that it is a little different to warm weather fasting - I'm suprised, I haven't really experienced any particular cold in the body, I feel warm and vibrant now - I have had more little bits of hunger and feel like I might not go as long as I had planned - I wanted to try for 21 days when I started - so maybe I will get there, only a week away - I'm thinking about what I want to do when I wean off the fast, I don't need to start that yet - it would be good to really eat the right things - so far, the cravings I've had were for rice the first couple times which I had and that's gone now - and now I feel myself craving meat - or protein, and knowing that iron is something I should have when my period comes. I really do take it day by day a lot of the time - I'd like to make some winter fasting broths but doing that means a trip to town to the shops which is not on the cards for tomorrow -- I guess I could go to the local butcher and get bones for a bone broth tho, that's only 5 minutes away :)
Well - don't think I'll get to my full yoga tonight as I did the big walk and it's late - already nearly 10:30 - I'm going to chill with some more Wandering Pines and stretch out my legs tho, might do a little floor work just stretching
should drink another tsp of the probiotic powder in something as well - had the psyllium water today with my sauna but still have to take the probiotic drink - much of today was drinking the detox lemonade (the cayenne and ginger really warmed me up internally!) - the rest of the charcoal watermelon/red cabbage drink I made yesterday as well as a couple tea's and hot chocolates - haven't had any coffee for a few days not as it was not agreeing with me at this stage - going to give it a total rest for awhile :)
More tomorrow! Enjoying how warm I feel inside!
