Hexagram Line 6: "Where the ego is out of touch, the display of will power leads to disorder."

If you understand how Human Design truly operates - on a mechanical basis - (not on a "reasoning" basis or an "ethics" base) then you can begin to have a proper respect for the energy that fuels the mechanics of each and every individual regardless of whether or not you personally like the individual. Here is one example where if you don't understand the mechanics then the mechanics you set in motion could possibly end up "biting through" you!

"The 21st gate needs to be in control of its domain. In order to apply the strength and will of its ego to ensure the survival of the Tribe, it must have control over something or someone."[1]

This gate is in the "Motor" of the Ego/Will/Heart Center. The gate is known as "Biting Through". It is "the justified and necessary use of power in overcoming deliberate and persistent interference".[1]

Success here is a matter of controlling the work, space and even whom one works for! If you have someone working for you with this energy then you had better be sure you have effective communications with that individual otherwise they will be controlling you as part of their "default" design.

I have hexagram Lines 1 and 3 activated by both Jupiters. Line 1: "Warning - The use of force as a last resort". I know an individual with Line 6 (see "Abstract" above.) The disorder that can be generated "where the ego is out of touch" can reach tremendous magnitudes. I may start a list of individuals with Line 6 activations.

Just made a quick search and I find my first result (following) very interesting!:

"I was thinking about civilization, as Uranus moved into the 51st gate of shock and I wondered when was it last in the 51st hexagram. The answer, the first time it dipped into the 51, was June of 1930, which was a time of instability in United States' stock market, but it retrograded back into the 21st gate 6th line of 'Chaos' in August of 1930, so folks believed the system was back in control. But when it left the 21st hexagram for good, in April 1931, the shocking realization was that the system was irreparably damaged and control had been lost. Which was followed by the 42nd hexagram of Endings, bringing completion, and later by the 3 'Difficulty at the Beginning' and the birth of something new. 'The fundamental challenge of initiation is to transcend confusion and establish order.' We do live in interesting times."[2]

My appreciation for the Human Design System is matched by that of the Gene Keys and its author Richard Rudd. Seven years after his introduction to the Human Design(HD) System Richard decided to share his story with the HD community that includes a formula called the Alchemical Return that he mapped out for understanding the process of deconditioning.

"Neither am I under any illusions about how the not-self works, and I know that this tool, like any other, is also a wonderful way for the not-self to remain in its conditioned patterns. We can always read into life whatever we wish, and use any knowledge as an excuse to remain firmly locked into our old patterns. I would like to issue a particular strong caution to those of us who have undefined minds, whose not-self loves to hide itself away in mental certainties."[3]

I share this quote especially to underscore the "strong caution" as an additional reference in regards to the one whom I know with the 21st gate at the 6th line.

More from Richard: "...the 50th gate acts as the guardian of the future ...The channel 50/27, the channel of Preservation, preserves the original blueprints of our true nature. One of the mystical keynotes for the 50 is 'the enforcer' because it will never let go of who we truly are."[3]

The "one whom I know with the 21st gate at the 6th line" also has the 50th gate with a double planetary activation that includes Lines 1 and 2.

Gate 50 Line 2 - Determination - "can enjoy overcoming adversity to achieve its goals. The strength derived from maintaining one's values in the face of opposition ..."
