The so called "right" in Ontario, Canada needs to be amended when it comes to children's public schools.

People can choose to eat as they please (even if it's to their own detriment). However, people don't have a right to impose (directly or otherwise) their private dietary beliefs onto the public. An article published yesterday declared:
Ontario, Canada, Rules Veganism A Human Right Legally Protected Against Discrimination.[1]

There is no traditional wisdom that supports veganism as a successful diet. Dr. Weston A. Price conducted a world tour over the course of a decade visiting isolated cultures that had not been exposed to modern foods at that time (in the 1930s) with hopes that he would at least find a completely vegetarian culture but he couldn't find any! Instead he discovered that complete nutrition (for humans) requires certain nutrients that only come from animals (including true vitamin A, true Vitamin B12, D3 etc.).[2][3]

I would highly caution extending the newly invented so called "right" into elementary schools where complete nutrition is most critical for child development. Adults are a different case and once again it is the adults who can make their own choices (for good or for ill). In contrast to adults children are dependent on the adults to feed them according to the culture's nourishing tradition. Their simply is no record of any culture raising healthy children on a strictly vegan diet.

Children are more at risk being exposed to a strict vegan meal options than are adults because children are vulnerable to peer pressure and a child will adopt behavior to be accepted by their peers. However the idea of a mandatory strict vegan option at elementary schools is dangerous experiment that shouldn't be tried on children. Parents who want a vegan option available for their children in an elementary school should join together and start their own school or home school. The so called "right" in Ontario, Canada needs to be amended when it comes to children's public schools. As it stand now the "rule" is arbitrary.
