Now that I've released my third nest, I feel good again. This comes and goes. It may even be a leftover die off symptom as the worms release morphine and other chemicals. I know that I have gotten 'high' before from die off.
Anyway, I was thinking about why this is a war. And about how important it is to limit the 'fronts' on which you have to battle. The real battle is for ones' health. I think I am lucky in that I come from a family that has a history of understanding the role of diet and lifestyle in health. I have been reflecting on the other elements of my lifestyle that are limiting the 'fronts'.
1. I eat only organic food. Most of the regular food has pesticides and the most commonly used one-Roundup is a patented antibiotic. The main ingredient of Roundup, glyphosate, has been declared to cause cancer in animals. It disrupts your normal gut flora and promotes the pathogens. Legal to use on over 160 different crops, farmers have figured out that spraying it right before harvest allows them to time their harvest and put it into storage drier. Because it is used only days before harvest, the Roundup does not have time to travel to the roots of the plant but instead remains in the plant. You can't wash or cook it to remove the Roundup. 2. I did Bikram yoga 3 x a week for 4 years. In Bikram, the room is heated to over 100 degrees. You sweat. Sweating is the traditional way to remove toxins. I also do ecstatic dancing which can cause you to sweat but more importantly, random dance movements relieve stress. I believe that I am toxin and stress free. Especially since I am retired. I did medical tests to look at heavy metals a few years ago (after an alternative doctor told me I needed chelation) and I am low on heavy metal contamination.
3. I don't drink alcohol and haven't for years. My ex husband is an alcoholic. Enough said. I am caffeine sensitive so no coffee. Ever.
4. I have cleaned up the chemicals in my house and immediate environment. I live in a condo and got the condo association to go to organic landscaping practices. I don't use chemical cleaning products, relying on vinegar, baking soda and alcohol. I try not to wear wrinkle free clothes or synthetics. I don't sleep in wrinkle free sheets. I don't use commercial skin care products or lotions. Almond oil lubricates almost everything well and is great for the skin. I have been able to find raw, organic almond oil. Overall my toxic burden is low.
5. I have a good naturopathic doctor that advised me to eliminate gluten a year ago. Reading the work of Sayer Ji on GreenMedinfo also convinced me. So I am gluten free, lactose free, sugar free and now on as low a carb diet as possible. I got off the sugar after I eliminated a number of parasites. Until then, I just couldn't. Experts tell me that parasites live off of glucose, which is created from carbs. The only carbs in my diet the last two weeks have been from veggies. I also eliminated all supplements and vitamins. They also feed the parasites, especially B12 and iron.
6. I figured out that I had a leaky gut some time ago and took steps to fix it. Bone broth, the GAPS diet, fermented foods and probiotics. It was a mystery to me why all my efforts were not working and why I had it in the first place. Parasites are the reason.
So I don't battle candida, yeast, SIBO, insulin spikes, stress or environmental toxins. Just parasites and leaky gut. That may be why I am a freak of nature and expel them as soon as they die. My immune system still can kick some butt.
I do research constantly on gut issues and now on parasites. I am willing to try new and odd things. This blog is a way of recording my successes and failures. The Forum is another way to see other's progress. What would this journey be like without the internet?? YIKES. Because there is nothing in the public libraries and in common knowledge anymore. And there are few people who are trained to help.
