New Pain Relief Treatment + Many Additional Benefits! by Chef JeM .....

For conditions that involve low endogenous opioid production, like fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, LDN may prove to be profoundly beneficial.

April 4, 2018 - Low-dose naltrexone - Clinical Findings & More! -

"... Low-dose naltrexone was first used clinically in 1985 by Bernard Bihari, MD, a Harvard University physician and Director of the Division of Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, SUNY/Health Science Center at Brooklyn. He became the City Addiction Commissioner of New York in 1974 and continued working with drug addicts at the New York City Health Department and King’s County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.

... At the International AIDS Conference in 1988 Bihari reported fewer opportunistic infections in a group of AIDS patients using LDN as compared to the placebo group. He also found a reduction in the level of interferon-alpha (IFN-α) in those taking the LDN.10 Increased levels of IFN-α have been implicated in comorbidities in HIV patients such as vascular and kidney disease.11 In addition, patients with HIV infections often have reduced levels of CD4+ T cells. Bihari found that CD4+ T cells did not decrease in patients who received LDN, compared to the placebo group (who were not treated with LDN). These findings and other clinical trials led to the approval of LDN in April 2016 for management of HIV patients in the country of Nigeria by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC),12 Nigeria’s equivalent to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The FDA has not approved LDN for use for any medical conditions in the United States at doses below 5.0 mg, so it is only available from compounding pharmacies. "[16]

I have no idea whether a certain professor friend (mentioned in the December 29th, 2015 entry below) would consider accepting "the approval of LDN in April 2016" by the "NAFDAC" even though it's "... equivalent to the ... FDA". However the fact that LDN has been shown to be effect in a number of health issues by enhancing immune function is of great interest to may who suffer their conditions.

"... there are currently over 90 studies published on the various uses of (low dose naltrexone - LDN), from pain relief, fibromyalgia, Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis, systemic sclerosis and even cancer."

"When an FDA Panel says: CV Safety of Celecoxib Similar to Naproxen, Ibuprofen the obvious observation is that Naproxen and Ibuprofen aren’t very safe either! All these NSAID drugs hurt the heart, they all deplete magnesium, they are for short term use only (10 days or less) and even short term use can harm the heart. But doctors who think they have no other options prescribe them for years. ..."[17]

A public health professor friend says LDN is not "FDA approved" however "Low dose naltrexone is quite different than its use in high dose where it is FDA approved for addiction to alcohol and opiates."[3]

I was thinking of a friend with Fibromyalgia when I started this blog.[4]

Happy ending of 2015 and toward a happy ending of chronic pain.

"Our body is grounded around a solid skeleton, for which calcitonin is essential. Calcitonin not only maintains the strength of the skeleton, it is also the strongest pain reliever the body produces—40 to 60 times as powerful as morphine!-creation, pain control and to control addiction and seduction!"[5]

"Physicians wrote 259 million opioid prescriptions in 2012, triple the number two decades ago and enough to provide every adult in the country with a bottle of these pills. 'We have now this incredibly unusual public health crisis,' says substance-abuse expert Meldon Kahan, 'that's essentially caused by physicians.'"[6]

Chronic back pain is one of the "nonmalignant conditions" that "millions of Americans" are suffering. The brilliant medical doctor John E. Sarnos[7] has shown conclusively that most chronic back pain is a mindbody disorder.[8] That means there is a psycho-emotional causative factor involved with the pain. Prescription drugs will not resolve the cause of the pain. Doctors are not even addressing the psycho-emotional causative factor. They can conveniently say it is out of their realm and continue writing prescriptions.

"While annual deaths from opioid painkillers slowly increased between 2010 and 2014, rising from 16,000 to 19,000, heroin-related deaths in the same period rocketed from 3,000 to nearly 11,000 a year. Four out of five of those heroin addicts were hooked on opioids first."

"Only through educating yourself about how a drug works and what natural alternatives are available can you make the best health care decisions. Sadly, many conventional doctors simply do not have the proper knowledge to guide you on making the best health care decisions. It is up to you to make the appropriate health care decisions for you and your family.

... the only solution to our health care woes is through education. Learn about whatever therapy is prescribed for you. Make sure the therapy is appropriate and use the safest therapy available. Sadly, many conventional therapies are toxic and do not treat the underlying cause of an illness"[9]

"... most health care providers simply cannot understand how to critically read a study nor do they understand much about what is health and how to optimize it." Consequently these "health care providers" are most susceptible to the extraordinary marketing tactics of Big Pharma, much to the detriment of their patients. So much so that now "Prescription Medications (are the) Third Leading Cause of Death"[10]

June 21, 2017 - Related research:

"... we think much of the attraction of legalizing drugs is that you could regulate and control them much better than we currently can - that's less about price controls (though that's a part of it so people with addictions don't need to steal to keep themselves well) than making sure that consumers know the potency and purity of what they're getting so they don't OD or have other issues. ..."[11]

The idea that "people with addictions ... keep themselves well" with drugs is begging for enlightenment! "Four out of five ... heroin addicts were hooked on opioids first" - indicating the extent of risk that people take to alleviate their pain. That is not an indication of wellness in my (health) book.

"Reform the law ... or anything else — as long as you only take account of the particular item, without having an understanding of the whole, it only results in a demolition."[12] The movement to "reform the law" for "legalizing drugs" includes the good intention of ending the horrific "war on drugs" however where is the "understanding of the whole"? "Whole" and the need for "health" (as I claim begs for recognition here) share the same root!

June 25, 2017 - More re: Fibromyalgia:

Types of Toxins Expelled when Using Saunas -
According to Dr. Clement, infrared saunas help release every type of toxic contamination you have in your body; most notable of which are mercury and lead. However, calcium is another. We're not talking about natural calcium here, but the types of calcium added to many processed foods that your body cannot process. Dr. Clement's book Supplements Exposed addresses the problem with many nutritional supplements and fortified foods.

"[Most supplements] are made out of petrochemicals, and coal tar, and turpentine—Vitamin E is an example," he says. "What happens is that if you look at calcium, the two most common, 88 percent are made either out of oyster shells that are totally indigestible, or chalk, which is a known carcinogen! Now, this is insanity, and how we allow this is corrupt, but we won't get into that today.

… [A]ll that calcium that you consume… that your body cannot process, lodges inside of your muscles. A lot of these muscular diseases we have today, and painful diseases, like fibromyalgia [can be due to this.]"[13]

My professor friend who suffers from fibromyalgia takes calcium supplements. I wonder what the source of the calcium is.

Results (documented scientifically) that can occur from near infrared (NIR) heat lamp exposure include:

"LESSENS JOINT AND MUSCLE PAIN & INCREASES FLEXIBILITY - Penetrating heat from NIR has long been proven to reduce pain and increase circulation to areas of discomfort. NIR has also been shown to significantly increase the range of flexibility.[14]
