Began the first round of my fast March 30 (less than a month ago). I'm going to start this fast with a dry fast. I don't have any expectations of how long. Also I picked up this bug (cold/virus/?) and I just don't know how my body will respond.

First thing to mention is I just updated my post for yesterday. I thought it was important to let you know because I had a thought about eating meat. I wondered how that affects one's vibration. I was brought to a similar question posted by someone...

Anyway, check my post Day 9 (round 2).
So last night I woke up quite a few times. My throat continued to be scratchy and nose got plugged up. So it seems this is in line with symptoms of a bug/cold/virus but I can't be 100% sure. Now that I'm at the gym so often, it does increase my exposure despite all the hand sanitizing I try to do. Things are still airborne especially in the saunas where we are confined in a small room. Anyhoo I don't want to analyze anymore about where this came from. Heck I have 4 kids that go to school. Enough said.
Now, having one dry fast under my belt, the scientist in me wants to try and see how this could affect my healing. I noticed this morning when I blew my nose it was thicker and kinda yellow (I know gross but in the name of science and healing). I want to see if I can speed up the healing. Now, with this scratchy throat, I would typically drink hot tea, increase water intake, spray nose/throat with colloidal silver, and gargle with food grade H202. Since I am dry fasting I will just gargle. So I'm just gonna wait and see how this plays out. No pressures placed on me, just quietly observing out of fascination. I'm taking it as easy as possible.
12:15pm
I'm in bed and I started feeling pretty hungry around 11. I've been ignoring the urges and tummy rumblings for over an hour now. I tried to keep my mind occupied watching youtube videos of how to cut up T-shirts. I need to declutter my closet and want to recycle shirts for working out. I've already messed up my first shirt. The videos make it sure look easy. Well, my throat is still scratchy =( . I will see if I can meditate using white light and healing intentions.
3pm
I fell asleep pretty quickly while meditating. I slept at least a good 1.5 hr. I feel better though I feel like my muscles are like Jell-o. I gargled with Magnesium oil this time. My throat seems to be less bothersome. My nose is getting more itchy and having increased drainage. I'm thinking the first day of my first dry fast seemed so much easier. I enjoyed it very much. This time I seem to keep thinking about fluids more. My mouth and throat just seems like it needs to be soothed by bathing it with something. I'm feeling that ache deep in my right hip. My plan is to hit the sauna in half an hour mainly for the wet sauna. I will bring some eucalyptus/peppermint oil to open up my passages.

I hit the sauna. Started with a few minutes in the dry to open up pores and get sweatin. Went to the wet sauna and inhaled my essential oils (including tea tree). Fortunately I had the whole room to myself so I was quite liberal with the scents. It was quite hydrating and soothed my dry nasal passages and throat. Hunger wise I'm pretty okay. I got past that first hurdle of hunger earlier close to lunch time and since then I've been okay. Being sick helps in the appetite department with regards to taste buds. I'm at 20 hours into the dry fast so I have day 1 almost completed. WOW. I'm really surprising myself. By the way this morning I was at lowest level for ketones at 5mg/dL. It was so faint I hardly could tell there was any change in color at all. I was still in ketosis yesterday but I had some homemade water kefir and it's anyone's guess how much sugar there was in the amount I drank. I had it brewing over 4 days but there was obviously enough sugar still to throw me out of ketosis temporarily. With the dry fast today my ketone levels already was up to the next shade 15mg/dL by afternoon. That's the nice thing about coming off my last fast and staying on Paleo/keto diet, it makes the body's shift to water/dry fasting easier. Well, at least for myself that's what works.
8:30pm
Been trying to keep myself occupied. Went to Michael's (arts and crafts) store and bought fabric stuff, pens, iron on for DIY projects to remake my T-shirts and fix one of my ball caps. I bought that hat from Amazon. It was brown camo lined with pink. What I didn't realize was the symbol embroidered on the front and back was that of a deer. When I purchased it I thought it was a company symbol. I didn't make the connection that it was for lady hunters. Ummm like people who kill deer. I spent an hour trying to cut and pull the threads out. Task was finally completed and thinking of adding some personalized art on it.
Back to fasting topic. My lower back is sore. A dull persisting ache that cannot be ignored. Both hips bothering me as well. I also just started to feel hungry but it wasn't anything uncomfortable. It's just that empty stomach feeling kinda hungry but it passed pretty quickly. I have gotten more congested and the scratchy throat continues. I'm not thirsty but I want something to help with the throat discomfort. I am kinda wishing I could drink something like Nyquil to just get knocked out and have a good deep sleep.
I just tested again for ketones and up next level to 40mg/dL. This morning at 5.0 then 15 in afternoon and now at 40. Ohh lowest level of protein in urine and pH at 6. FYI, when I start a fast coming from a normal diet, I usually don't get into ketosis until after 48 hours of fasting. But as I mentioned that though this is day 1 of round 3, I stayed on Paleo/keto/lo carb days between round 2 and 3. Sorry if I sound repetitive with some things I'm saying. I've posted 23 days already and when your fasting cognitive functioning can be affected. In my case, I'm admitting yup that I'm not quite as sharp.
