The Journal of The Theosophical Society and Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov.

I've only recently been introduced to the "Journal of The Theosophical Society": Quest with its Spring 2015 issue that was delivered at the house although intended for my former housemate. I wish I could continue having this issue and finish reading it however my housemate said he'd be coming by to get his mail this week and now it is early Friday morning!
About the first attraction I had in this journal was found on page 76 "A Selection of Titles on Spiritual Teachers". The first listing is Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov: A Biography By Louise Marie Frenette 1999: "This first full-length biography of the Bulgarian sage ..., written by someone who knew him during the last ten years of his life, contains source material taken from the 5000 talks he gave between 1938 and his death in 1986. His teachings speak of the quest for sanctity in everyday life."
It was the last sentence that clenched it for me. After reading that I began researching about Omraam and blogged some on that[1]
Also in the same "selection" is "Revolutionaries of the Soul: Reflections on Magicians, Philosophers, and Occultists By Gary Lachman, 2014 - "Lachman's collection of sixteen biographical articles covers the lives of many who have helped humanity see reality in a new way." Although there is a review in the journal on this book I intend to search further on the individuals that he writes about.
I also read the journal's review on "Beyond Mindfulness: The Direct Approach to Lasting Peace, Happiness, and Love" by Stephan Bodian, 2014. I'd like to re-read that one!

Six months later and how wonderful it has been partaking of the "journey with Omraam"! I find that his teachings speak well beyond "the quest for sanctity in everyday life"! I believe the teachings are really intended for initiates.[2]

January 31st, 2016 -
Now over nine months since I connected with the teachings of Omraam and my gratitude is beyond describing in words! One thing I can say is that as a direct result of his teachings I find it easier to turn inward, to be still, to enter the silence and the spaciousness of the great within!
Today's "Journey with Omraam" message starts out:
"The annals of Initiatic Science mention that the human species as we know it is not the only one to have appeared on earth. Other species of humans preceded us, some with a more advanced culture than ours. If they disappeared, it is because they gave free rein to the impulses of their lower nature, which has no other purpose than to control and enslave everything, both human beings and nature."[3]
