Shocking news about kidney stones


Just out of my appointment with my Urlology specialist who has done two kidney stone procedures on me that last two summers. We were hoping that I could stop making these stones. This is not the case.

News is shocking.

I still have kidneys a cluster of kidney stones on in the right kidney. They are 21 mm, less than an inch considerably big.

He's giving me two choices.

One is the procedure called and nephrolothotomy.

This is more invasive than the procedure he did last time that involves shocking the stones in the hospital putting in a stent that was in the from five days and then waiting for the granules to pass.

Dr bidair has done a number of ultrasounds on me. I wast sure if this new 21 mm kidney stone showed up before the last procedure and July or has been created since. I went back up. He said, through his nurse, that the new cluster formed after the procedure from what was blasted but stayed.

The procedure did not get it all to release.

He's also recommending that I take potassium citrate 10 and Q twice a day to prevent further stones

These are calcium stones.

URINE TEST

He also gave me a report of the of the 24 hour urine collection test we did.
He recommends that I drink at least three quarters of a gallon of water every day. He says it doesn't matter what kind of water I drink. I asked him if it if I could take reverse osmosis water.

He told me to come back in a couple weeks to decide what I wanted to do. He could tell I wasn't ready to make any kind of decision. He said that the consequences of not doing the procedure or waiting for an emergency would be that it would be difficult to plan this type of procedure that involves a tube directly from the side into the kidney.

Lots to think about. Brings up some concern and fear.

Likely fear causes my kidney stones.

PROLONGED DIARRHEA CAN MAKE KIDNEY STONES

I have also had diarrhea since July. He said that this increases the need for water. He also said that not having enough water can cause the kidney stones.


My weight is now about 112 lbs.

I want to know what my weight was in July 2014.
I will call my primary physician.
