Codependent behavior does not become entirely evident until we become adults and begin having intimate adult relationships. These relationships are generally emotionally healthy ones. One reason for that is that codependents are typically drawn to those who lack stability and/or act irresponsibly in a particular area of their lives. They attach themselves to these dysfunctional people because they have a compulsive need to help, nurture, and/or control others. I have been there and can fully relate to the problems this disorder causes for those who suffer with it. I can help you overcome your codependency.
