Prep for Kidney Stone Procedure and Unanswered Details

Gosh! Feeling stress. This is June 21, 2014.

I have a kidney stone procedure this Wednesday, 12:30 pm at Alvarado Hospital.

My main support is working that day. My backup just called me to let me know that she is on an emergency alert with a loved one. She may not be available.

I need to have someone take me there and pick me up.

Not having this in place for sure is not helping me right now.

I Need some supplies from the Pharmacy

I need some supplies from the pharmacy.

One is Magnesium Citrate and the other Ducolax Tablets.

I am suppose to stop anti-inflammatory drugs one week prior…
I need to take my AminoActiv.

THE EVENING BEFORE

On Wed. I am suppose to fast from midnight, until the time of the surgery.

That means no water or food. This is mandatory.

TAKING THE PRODUCTS TO CLEAR THE BOWEL

2:00 PM Tuesday, Drink the entire bottle of Magnesium Citrate.

6 PM take two Doculax Tablets.

Stay at home near the bathroom after using the preps.

I may only have liquid diet for dinner--clear booth, clear liquids, mellow, etc.
Clear liquids are any fluids that I can see through.

Gosh! i don't I know what to drink/eat that fall into that category.


HOW WILL I GET THERE AND BACK HOME?

This is stressful.

I need a solid person with me.

FOLLOW UP

They are putting a stent in.
I have concerns about this.

I do not want this in too long.

What do I do about pain relief?

Can I count on AminoActiv and
Arnica Montana?

LEAK IN THE KITCHEN

I went it to ask a housemate for help with the ride there.

I was informed that we have a leak back.

I better arrange for a plumber.
This may be expensive.

I don't feel like eating.

This is the eve last year, before
I had severe pain…and had to go to the emergency.

Nadine says she will be able to pick me up from the hospital.
She will likely get cut from work at 1 pm.

Is this for sure?

I do not like the idea of going under for an procedure without knowing who is taking me home.

Who will be there when I wake up?

it sounds like it is a leak when water drains.

K will look at it.

It may not be an emergency but how about the wall damage?


RECOVERY TIME?

How long is my recovery time?
When will the stent be taken out?

What will I use for pain relief?

I have reactions to the conventional pain drugs last time.


FOLLOW UP

The card in the envelope says…

3:30 pm and on the printed paper it says 3:45 pm
July 10.

I would not want to wait that long with the stent in me.

The Procedure is suppose to blast them.
