Juice Fasting Success

So... quick but important post.

I had been trying the ketogenic diet (meat, fish, fats, no carbs) for the past three months. My motivation to lost weight was, and still is, sky high. Could not be higher. But, for some reason (which I thought was motivation/discipline-related), I could not sustain more than five days or so at a time without carbs.

I was also feeling 'acidic' -- hard to summarise quickly. But that's what it was. I was craving vegetables --- salads. Constantly, almost. The days where I ate only plain meat (e.g. one steak) were many, and they gave me an extreme feeling of mental clarity, and brought weight loss, but I could not sustain eating only protein for more than a few days at a time.

Inspired but the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, I decided to pause the struggle and try a . . . juicefast. As I write I am on the evening of Day Seven. One week where I consumed only freshly-prepared, mostly organic, fruit and vegetable juices. (I have a Champion Juicer, which I find excellent).

Results? The same weight loss rate as protein-only (evening out at 0.8 lbs per day after the first three days -- which were much greater -- up to 2.6lbs per day), but, SUSTAINABLE. I am loving the juicing! I feel very clear (as if on protein), and have reached weight loss lows that I could not reach in my three months of trying to stick to protein only.

There's the update. I have natural vegetarian inclinations, so I am delighted that I have found a (vegan) method that works in terms of weight loss.

I found the Essene Gospel of Peace (Book One) very helpful in terms of inspiration too.

LOVE
:)
