THIS IS AN EMAIL I WROTE TO A HIGHLY REGARDED 90+ YEAR OLD ELDER IN MY LIFE

I have you in my thoughts.

I heard you say not long ago that you reinvent your life each decade.

I wish you were able to pass this wisdom to me, and that I was able to apply it.

The present alone seems to be asking so much, and yet I find myself filled with things from the past.

I was so happy that you had the opportunity to attend some of the Permaculture Voices. I planned on attending, but came home from the Natural Product Expo, the week before, with had bronchial congestion. It is just getting better three weeks later.

The other day, I was going on a simple trip to the bank a block away. I pulled a muscle.

These experiences make me doubt how much I can count on my body.

The last two years I drove 1600 miles to the National Heirloom Expo in
Santa Rosa.

I seem to go beyond what I imagine I can do, and want to recommit to being their again.

The Baker Creek Seed Company's founder, Jere Gettle, whose company also puts on this show,was thinking of putting out a couple seed packets with my work. My Spring Project is called "Uncle Sam Marries "Anti" GMO. Get Engaged (through growing some of your own food with heirloom seeds.)







I am so grateful for the things I have done and the remarkable influence I have had in so many lives. Yesterday I met a young man who was 27. He remembered me and said I gave him some seeds when he was 8 years old. I really needed to have that encounter. I have not been feeling strong in will or spirit.



Most of all right now, I just wanted to connect with you at what feels a difficult time.

I have been remarkably graced to have known you and benefited from the bounty of your clear vision.

I am asking the universe, and your good thoughts, that my health and strength return to me.
