progress review at 10 days
Date: 1/18/2014 6:41:08 AM ( 10 y ago)
From today, I have decided to vary this cleanse. I have never experienced the levels of consistent tiredness I have felt in the last 5-6 days. This lifts when I take a small amount of broth in the evenings, so I am going to incorporate that from now on.
I am also reducing the SWF from daily to every other day - at least for a few days. I will monitor this and see how it goes.
This decision is based on the constant fatigue, the increasingly constant upset stomach feeling which seems to go with the lemon juice, and the reflux-taste which seems induced by the cayenne.
I have never had any of these symptoms before past day 4, and I am not significantly overweight, nor is my diet bad. I eat no junk food - HATE McDonald/KFC, do not drink canned drinks, use wholemeal flour and brown sugar, and prepare my own food from scratch with high proportions of pulses and veg and a small amount of meat.
At day 10, I decided its time to review where I am now compared to where I started.
I notice some positives and achievements. I also notice I have my judgemental hat on when I start using that language, but will deal with that later.
The most important positive is this fast makes my inner guidance clearer. I can feel that the inner space I occupy when in prayer/mediatation has expanded and become more stable, and there is an increasing quality of lightness about it. My sense is that this is a progression.
Another major positive is I have lost mass. Don't know how much weight, but it is at least one dress size - enough for me to move, sit and dress comfortably again, and to plan a return to yoga able to do some of the twists and curl-up moves without my belly and large thighs physically getting in my way. The weight off my knees is welcome, as I was at the top of my weight/mass range judging by clothes. It's not all positive, because I feel my metabolism is slower and some of that weight will be muscle weight as I have not done enough exercise due to tiredness. I hope to improve this with the addition of broth in the evening to counterract the tiredness.
The other visible physical positive is progress on the decluttering. There is a lot more to go, but a lot has been done, and it is getting done steadily. Most importantly to me, it feels like a norm to declutter right now, and I am doing it in ethical ways - recycling, giving unwanted items to charity or good causes so that useful items continue to get used. It takes time, but it feels right. And this process now feels within my reach, not beyond me. From where I am right now, that doesn't feel like a big change, but it clearly is compared to 10 days ago.
Another big thing is my steady prayer life and commitment to castle work. When I first considered the Castle work 3 years ago I was overwhelmed and afraid of coming to know myself that well. Now I want to do the clearance and am committed to it. That is a vital shift, one I'd like to get in touch with and maybe give myself credit for.
