Hydrogen Fuel from Sewage and Sunlight

Sorry folks, I have really been falling behind... I have several posts to get done, starting with this slightly ukky one, lol.
This post is about some great news on clean energy research that did not make it into the mainstream news at all, not one bit, despite the fact that it is very newsworthy. Clean energy is being kept quiet!!
Okay, here we go - [links below] -
A novel device that uses only sunlight and wastewater - raw sewage actually - to produce hydrogen gas could provide a sustainable energy source [hydrogen] while improving the efficiency of wastewater treatment.
Usually, to produce Hydrogen from water they need an input of electricity to break down the hydrogen-oxygen bonds of water, and that means the production uses as much or more energy than it produceds. Now, with this device, a strain of bacteria that produce a small electrical current are used in combination with a special type of solar power cell and the net result is hydrogen fuel produced without any energy input!
Once the system is set up it runs on it's own other than being fed raw sewage.
The cost of the initial setup would be quickly recovered by the value in the hydrogen fuel, and the fact that this system actually cleans up sewage so there is less energy needed in sewage treatment plants.
If results from the planned 40-liter prototype are promising, they will test the device on site at the wastewater treatment plant. As the devices are made larger, there will be less sewage to be run through the treatment plant.
Researchers are optimistic about the commercial potential for their invention. I can forsee a time in the near future where every municipality will be saving money on sewage treatment, and using the hydrogen fuel to power their municipal maintenence vehicles. Any extra hydrogen fuel can be sold at a pure profit and the funds can benefit the municipality.
Sadly, the only thing missing is investment funds. Alberta's Tar Sands are getting $Billion$ for dirty energy that requires almost as much energy [to get the bitumen out and processed] than is produced, while something as usefull and efficient as "hydrogen fuel from sewage and sunlight" gets no more than the University of California at Santa Cruz can afford to spend on research. This is an example of a sick and sickening economy, and it sucks, it really does. Corporatism and Capitalism are stopping progress at every turn unless it is for fossil fuels.
Twice sorry now, but I just had to rant.
Thanks for reading, hopefully more posts coming soon - get ready for a shocking discovery I made about the War on Drugs and the medical mainstream!!
Oh, some links to the Hydrogen story, and possibly a picture of the prototype setup showing how the raw sewage comes clean.
